Sound Symposer on 991
Hi,
I just took pics of Sound Symposer on my 991. You can see a small hose inside the rear cover that connecting to the Sound Symposer from the engine bay. This is the part which amplifies the intake sound.
So if you want to disable it, what will you do? Someone suggests to put sock on it.

There is a guy on Rennlist that is already trying to figure out how to disable his. I think the OP might have posted his pics there also. The guy on Rennlist said the sound symposer got old real quick. He couldn't hear engine or exhaust sound over the sound symposer.

Hi actually it is me, who also posted this in rennlist

If you had an old 911 and took the air cleaners off, it sounds just like that. It's quiet at cruise at 70 and level. The more you accelerate, the louder the induction noise. Personally, I don't mind it, but I would have preferred they put a switch for it.

Can't you just remove the vacuum line from the diaphragm to disable it? Not sure how easy it is to get to.

Right, you posted the pictures, but I think the OP on Rennlist post inquiring about how to turn it off was someone other than you.

Will it make it very loud with PSE? I have a car on order with PSE... So, what is the real difference between PSE and non-PSE sound?

Works better with PSE. Better balanced. The symposer dominates the standard sound. And not in a good way IMO.

Symposer is on standard car only.
PSE cars do not have a Symposer?
