Need help with 80K car
Well I been looking for a 2004 360 really hard and had my heart set on one. I test road one today and it felt rough on the roads and the F1 wasn't really that smooth shifting when on the gas, not sure if you should let off when shifting. The car still brought a huge smile to my face and looks on the road. Then after that I said what the hell let me stop by the Porsche dealer. I test drove a 2007 911 turbo which was fun to drive rough on the road and raw power. Then I drove a new 2012 911 carrera s that was f-ing amazing but out of my price range. Really like the porsche but the new ones are kinda out of my range and models you can recommend. This vehicle is just a second car for speed and fun not a daily driver.
Have you driven a Z06? I never thought of myself as a Corvette guy, but I made the mistake of taking a Bondurant hi-perf driving school in Phoeniix last winter. Despite the questionable interior and the stereotypes, it's an ammazing car. I love my GTS, but I can't get the Z06 out of my head. If I didn't have a kid I'd have one.

The Z06 as mentioned is a good choice, Used Nissan GTR?,....never know what kind of abuse it has suffered, same for the Z06 I guess.
How about a second generation 2009 ~ 2012 Cayman S? I owned a 2006 and it was quite a lot of fun.
Problem is the 991 generation set such high benchmarks for performance and refinement it's hard to get it out of your head.
how is the ride quality in the GTS and the Carrera S. The new 2012 is out of my price range but would love to pull the trigger on one. Im just looking for a tool around car with allot of fun power and fun to drive.

You could probably do that if you're willing to wait for a slightly used one to pop up- and I'll bet they do. Otherwise, the lowest I can imagine a new one would be about 90 (not including tax). Are you USAA qualified?

997.1 GT3 or 997 Turbo without hesitation
A lot of nice options in that range. Spend some time browsing forums threads and take more test drives. IMO...the 997.1 turbo is an excellent choice - amazingly fast car with one of the best motors Porsche has produced.

+1 and 2, get a used 997 for now and wait for a CPO 991.
I bought my 2009 C4S last year for $77,000. It had 2900 miles on it and almost 3 years left on the warranty. You can also order a 991 with no options. Assuming a 5% discount can be negotiated, your price before sales tax will be around $79,000. Back in 2005 I had a 997 with almost no options, and it was a great car.
Fun problem to have.
I've owned an F360 and it was a ton of fun, however... the maintenance (especially on older models) is $$$ and it takes a long time to have it fixed if parts are not in stock (which is often).
Not to mention there's not that many Indy shops outside of the "stealer".
Plus for almost any work the entire engine has to come out... so $$ in labour.
I'll never say a bad word about Ferrari but... it's not a car to get if your on a budget.
Get a 997.1 Turbo instead, lots of Indy shops, readily available parts, "unbreakable" engine, top of the food-chain model and a ton of fun!
That too will still cost $$ in maintenance but much less than the F360.
The best suggestion I've read is get a basic no option 991 with the latest technology and a full waranty, you'll have a blast and can customize/add performance and visual elements over time making it that much more fun to own!
Either way, good luck!

Look for a good Cayman or Boxster. I have a maxed out RS60 and it is great. My first drive of the 991 left me kind of puzzled as my RS60 is more fun and exciting to drive.
Subsequent drives of the 991 has me wanting one. It is noticeable that part of what make it so good is it is closer the Porsche's mid engine car.
