Tpms

Yesterday I noticed the low pressure tire light on, even though the read out on the dash screen was at it's normal level readings (28 LFT, 28 RFT, 32 LRT, 31 RRT).

Tonight, leaving work, I noticed the same thing, but, now I had 3 tires reporting -6lb, -5lb, -6lb. Again the dash display when on TPMS showed them all around the "normal" levels (28,28,32,31).

When I got home I used a digital air gauge and the readings were (28 LFT, 29 RFT, 33 LRT, 34 RRT). Apparently the low air pressure sensor(s)/computer is messing up. Sound like this is worth a trip to the dealer?

Yeah, I had similar thing. Took to dealer, they topped up the air and reset the tpms.

I would have to say that the pressures are really low. I run mine at 36 PSI front and 44 PSI rear.

Agreed, I use 32 / 44. Don't forget to use the partial load / comfort settings.

Also check to make sure you don't have a nail in the tire, hard to see but happened to me 2 weeks after I bought it, friggin nail in the right rear tire. Thank goodness I bought the tire warranty.

Thanks for all the replies. I went to a local station with a air pump and filled the tires 36 (front) 42 rear and the warnings all went away. What threw me was the warnings came on though the pressure was about the same as it had been for the last 5k miles. I guess it went just below a threshold and that triggered the warnings.

It can also throw a code if you go past the high pressure threshold.
