Brake squeak
thanks for the video but I couldn't sit through the whole thing. Here is another link with quick instructions just by googling bedding brakes
Will try this a bit later today.

I have 12500 kms on mine and get the break squeal under the conditions described above. But I thought it was normal and it only happens occasionally so it doesn't bother me. If it starts happening more often I might look in to it. For now it's just one of the many mean noises this performance car makes.
I have used Zeckhausen's method before to simply Bed the brakes but didn't realize that it also eliminates Brake Squeal...
Porsche Should Have the Brakes Bedded prior to purchase...
Well, it was just a thought...
Great to hear! I'll give that a try myself.
This is extremely normal and expected on a high performance car. Proper bedding of the brakes WILL stop the squeal for a while and is a smart thing to do regardless. Your stopping distances will be much shorter and you will potentially save yourself from an accident. Oh yeah ABS doesn't need to kick in nearly as often too. If you need instruction on how to bed the brakes I can post a very informative video.

I took my 991S into my local dealer to have its rear tire replaced - a nail in tire only after 300 miles
The service advisor performed the standard procedure to see if there is any applicable recall on my car. And BAM! A recall campaign on my rear brake pads. Something about the rear pads not up to Porsche quality and making too much noise under certain situations. The recall number is WC46.
I'll see if that helps with the squeak when I get the car back. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I just got my car back. No brake squeal so far! For those of you who have the same issue, check with your dealer and see if WC46 is applicable to your car.
I only had the brake squeal occasionally at low speed in the first 1400 miles. I did however have a lot of chatter at low speed coming to a stop, like driving on marbles. Both issues were becoming progressively worse starting at around 500 miles.
I followed the video recommendation of a fairly aggressive 10ea-60mph to 5mph in a row, followed by a short cool down period, then another 10ea-60 to 5 in a row. It's now 500 miles later and no more marbles or squeal. It was the marble thing that concerned me most, I was pretty sure that when that is happening braking distance suffers.
Thank you for the video Breaker, I was (as always) hoping there was a simple fix for these problems and this time there was!
I have had no "campaign" on brakes performed, I don't know if there is one on my car. It's a January 2012 build.
