Color Help - Platinum vs Agate Grey
Actually the obverse--Turns very slight metallic greenish brown in extreme sunlight. Deep gray in low light. No black. The color is very attractive in sunlight. Hard to describe. Only recommendation for that very unique color is to see it in person. People stop me a lot about the color and how beautiful it is.

I liked agate for longest time too and wanted carrera red interior.
Wife vetoed carrera red.
Slowly coming to same conclusion you did.
Nearing final build on rhodium silver two tone black/platinum grey interior carrera s.
Both agate and silver reflect light and show curves in the rear of car.
However silver looks good in all conditions.
As it gets darker the agate turns to dirty brown silver or black.
I also confirmed this at dealer in person.

Congratulations!
I have Basalt Black with Carrera Classic wheels and Black/Platinum Grey leather. I am happy with this but....
If I had to do it over, I would go with the Agate Grey, the same wheels as they are partly painted in Grey so it would go nice with the exterior, , and I would select the same interior leather or perhaps the Red leather.
Silver is not reflective enough for me.

Wives always veto red! They don't want us to be noticed by other 'people'. A few weeks after my wife denied me getting red, she asked me why didn't I get a red one??
Wha!?!?
Wha!?!?
There are exceptions to every rule: My wife loves the red and it was a red Cayman that she saw and loved at first sight which led us to the Porsche showroom. We ended up ordering a Guards over Luxor 911 because that's the color combo she was attracted to (and which I like, too). I'd have been happy with most of the colors but not the wife so we're getting red.
What's amazing is that the OP made a few posts back last October and has never been heard from since. I wonder if he ordered his 991 and what color he chose.
disclaimer- GT Silver gets it for my #1 choice on a 911.
Having said that, and though Platinum Silver (now gone bye bye) is nice, that Agate Grey has really grown on me. It's really a rich color...understated, but rich and elegant at the same time. As one poster pointed out, the PS will be cooler than AG in the hot weather, but my vote would be for AG. I haven't seen Rhodium Silver represented enough to get a read on it aside to agree it looks like it has wee bit of blue in it.

Regarding the red interior --
I wish Porsche retained the Terracotta interior . It's not as bright as the carrera red and I feel it goes beautufly with shades of silver , darker grey , and white . In fact a friend of mine has two tone black/terracotta on a Meteor Turbo which looks incredible .
Here is a photo of it on my last 997S . Look at the tiles on the house how they match the color . I almost considered at one point special ordering it but already had this combination recently .

I have no objectivity having PtAg and a red/black interior. Te Aqua blue with cognac interior would have been second and Agate was third, with black interior. You can't go wrong with any Porsche although I don't love the Lime Gold.
One note - that earlier beautiful picture of the 991 by the water - wonderful shot! But in my opinion, the Pt wheels are a mistake with the Agate car. That is the second one I have seen and I don't love it - they blend too well and sort of wash each other out. I don't think that they complement each other. Interestingly I saw a new Boxter with that combo and it was stunning. I can't explain but certain colors and combos look better on certain cars in my experience.
I would go with a brighter metal color silver/chrome, etc. for the wheels with the Agate paint. I hope this is your greatest problem ever with the car!
