Bose v/s Burmester for cab
997 cab had Bose and I thought it was fine- top up or down. Lots of road noise in that car top up or down but most music good-- much better than the radio and much worse than headphones. New cabs have different interior acoustics (quiter) so more of the sound system will be revealed (good or bad). 991 coupe has Burm and it is far, far better than previous Bose. I wouldn't have originally bought it but the car had it and now I wouldn't go back. Obviously much less noise in the car. Drove new Panamera as a loaner and it had Bose; if you are at all into music (other than car sounds) and want to spend the coin Burm is the way to go. (Or 3rd party solution down the road if you are unhappy with the Bose.)
Have Bose in my cab and Burm in my wife's Cayenne Turbo. No comparison. Go with the Burm. It's a big part of the reason I'm planning to order a 991 (well, that and the cool automated wind deflector...)
Wow, great comments, they are making spending the extra for the Berm much easier. I was going to make the effort to test the Bose in the 991 but might not bother at this point.
