Advice on possible 991 4S build
Thanks all, for the great advice.
@Nine XI - I might consider the headrest crests... I'm not too fond of the look in the Beige leather (personal preference, don't want to offend anyone!) but might like it in grey. As for leather on column, I think you're right especially in other color leathers but in black and grey maybe not quite so critical, especially since the driver (me!) won't be seeing much of it; but I am gonna give those ideas some thoughts.
@BnB - I want to drive the car every day except DEEP snow. If I can really do that comfortably without the front wheels driving it would make it more convenient for me -- I could go to Denver this weekend and spontaneous shop for a good deal on a 2012 -- which believe me, I'm very tempted to do.
Of all my options, Sport Exhaust is number 1 and PDCC might be near the bottom. I might be able to live without it. My understanding, though, is that the D (dynamic) component is what makes it fast around corners but also more comfortable on lousy roads -- and I really like that dual personality idea -- comfortable daily driver -- crazy fast when wanted.
You're all right -- I really need to try to drive the different options, and hope to get a chance to do that in Denver this weekend.
I've seen a couple options on cars at dealer's websites that I can't find on the configurator:
ZAB - Ornamental Porsche Crest [what exactly is that?]
Another option for extra cooling for hot climates? How do I order that?
I like the porschedealer.com website -- the cars dealers list on there have all the options detailed out... it's frustrating that most of the dealers' official websites make it nearly impossible to figure out what exactly is on their cars. Also, sometimes the inventory is different. I would assume (maybe incorrectly) that the inventory on porschedealer.com would be pretty accurate?
Well, maybe I'll break down and just buy something this weekend. To be honest, I'm sure I could be very happy for a year or two with any 2012 Carrera 2S if it just has PSE.

Yeah, I know... I said I just "had" to have the sports exhaust. I drove this one, liked it. It's a 2012 and had been on the lot 5 months. The deal was right. So... I brought it home. Still a few minor issues to work out with the dealer, but I've already put almost a thousand of my own miles on it (1100 total), so tried out Launch Control today -- WOW!

Very nice. How are you liking the carbon? I love the MF carbon wheel and it sounds like you got the dash and door trim and the console trim - full carbon except for the door entry guards.
Sure, I'll get some posted. Thanks.
Yes, it is heated. I didn't think I'd find that too useful, but actually I have been using it on cold days and I like it a lot.
