Some times during a full blooded straight line acceleration in sport + mode, the tires screech during the gear shift. Screech occurs when shifting from first to second gear. This does not happen every time and when it does it is during maximum ( fully flooring it) acceleration and not just hard acceleration. Any one else experience this?

That's called "chirping second gear". Not surprising you can do it in a 991s as I could do it in my 1979 Toyota Celica.

 

Yeah, I believe there's a 'campaign' for that issue.

 

Are you concerned this is a problem?

 

I don't think it is a problem other than wear of tires perhaps. When tires were brand new this did not happen despite the high load gear change. After about 10,000 kms it started happening at times. I have now done 15000 kms. During this maximum load gear shift the entire car shakes for a second, earlier this did not cause a tire screech but now with slightly used tires it does.
This does not bother me personally and I may even consider it fun, but I find it slightly embarrassing to screech in a straight line acceleration context while driving a highly refined sports car.
