First Steps in Ordering a 911 S Next Spring. What Do You Think of This Configuration?
Few changes:
1) Stock wheels. I can't use 20" summer wheels and tires so I'll need something 18-19" all season after market.
2) Added Folding Mirrors (do these close automatically when you leave the car?) and Exterior Package Painted.
3) Removed PSE and PASM for now.
4) Added SportDesign steering wheel.
5) Removed Carbon Trim for now. I'm not sure the few carbon pieces will mesh well with the ton of silver accents all around.
Price down to approx $109.5k.

You have almost the exact same build as my car...arriving in port in a couple of days. Things you might want to think about:
- Park Assist, front and rear
- Seat ventilation
- Put back Sport chrono and Sport exhaust....very nice to have
- Carbon interior. If you choose this, there will not be any silver trim pieces. I just saw a car with carbon 30mins ago at the dealer and it looked great!!!!!
- Sport Design steering wheel: Vivid Racing has custom steering wheels in carbon etc. Look great.
- Instrument dials in a different color? I personally did not like the silver tach on the S and went for all black dials
- Add the Bose audio option?
Hope that helps
VPR80,

Seat Ventilation comes in the Premium Plus.
Sport Chrono is there.
Need to listen the PSE to decide.
I like Carbon as well, but (1) not sure about Carbon + Beige, might need to do Carbon + Grey.
I like the White Instrument dials but hate the close to $1k cost.
Sound, I also need to listen to decide.
The 20" wheel will last a week around NJ/NY, I really need something with fatter sidewalls to expect them to last and not get killed.
Basically looks like I am around $115k give or take a bit.
I love the glass roof, have it on the wife's S-class, but not sure it's worth the extra $2k. I rather get some performance goodie.
I like the dark blue and beige as well. The US configurator is supposed to be updated Nov 1st with a Luxor Beige/Black, 2 -tone option. I am waiting for this to lock my order as I have heard a lot about the glare. I also liked the carbon trim accents but they are expensive and I got a lot of criticism of the look with beige - which I have not seen outside the configurator renderings. I love the MF wheel with the carbon - looks way cool to me.
Hey in your original post, why are you being charged for PASM? I thought that was standard ?
Anyway - the carbon fiber illuminated door sills are NICE. And what about a glass sunroof? And for re-sale, you may wanna consider a Bose sound system at least.

I call this the "Power Build", same as above but with the extra Performance add-ons.

Nice build. It is very similar to mine. I originally had the same premium pkg plus with 18 way seats, but ended up going with premium pkg with 18 way and added ventilated seats. You give up the light design package and entry and drive, but I really didn't care much for either anyway. Just a suggestion since you seem to be keen on keeping the price down.
Regarding the 18 way seats, I'd spend some time sitting in them as well as the 14 way before you decide. I ended up choosing the 18 way mainly because of the added bolsters on the seat base. The upper bolsters on the 14 way seat are fairly good, but the base is noticeably lacking. The shoulder bolsters on the 18 way can also be a bit constraining, so better try them out. If you aren't dead set on the ventilation you could also try the manual sport plus seat. They fit me very well, but I want the ventilation, so had to go with the 18 way.

After driving my 991 Carerra S, and looking at your configuration, as a daily driver in the NE, being from North Jersey, I would recommend not going for SPASM, regular SPASM is standard, PSE is a must for the sound, nothing like it. Sport Chrono is a definite must. I opted for the Bose, not a great audiophile, but much better than the base. PDCc is a must if you can afford it. I went for the glass sunroof, platinum wheels and sport design package.

$14k difference. One part of me wants to say screw it and get the loaded one, but all the items with the star in the first build are really nice to have, but I could totally live without. The worst part is that I am still 6-8 months out from placing the order which feels like an eternity.
Thanks all for the input!!!
If what you are looking for is more into the performance, wait for the GT3. The look already screams for performance. I even heard the final production front lip will be retractable to overcome street bumps. But don't count on this info.
On the other hand, if performance is not your main concern, don't settle for less luxury option that you would like to have. But still, draw the line somewhere
Myself, I preffered comfort/luxury over performance. One of the reason I sold my used panamera turbo is due to I could not stand the harsh ride, even in it's comfort mode. The main reason i sold it, I love how proportional the new 911 looks.
Further more, both 991 and 991s has little bouncy feeling when cruising on uneven road at low to moderate speed. I ordered pccb and hoping to overcome that feeling. I will find out on Jan'13.
Happy shopping, you still have plenty of time

Did you consider PDK? I used to drive my 911 with tiptronic every day, then I switched to MT and now I don't drive my 911 as much. It's such a pain in daily traffic, which is also why my next 911 is with PDK.
