I feel no difference in the car if I activate "Sport" or "Sport +". It just sets the PSE on and firms up the suspension? I can do this myself without the Sport + button?? Can someone share their experience?
thanks.
thanks.
throttle response is much sharper with sport/+ on, and the PSE puts out lots of cracks and burbles only found in sport/+. The electronic aids or nannies are also less restrictive, and surely other parts of the car are affected in ways you may not see right off the bat. I don't know if there is any change to the manual shifting (I haven't felt or found it) with sport/+, but at some point there will be rev-matching for downshifts under sport+ (unknown if this will trickle down to the 2012 model year C2S).

Have you passed the breakin point yet. I don't have my car yet but from what I've read it's after 4500 rpm's that the car really comes alive. So thats where id expect it to be the most noticeable. I ordered SC on the advice of others here because of the dynamic engine mounts, rev-matching, and also the sport plus button making the car more lively so I'm hoping the last is really true. Can others with SC and a manual chime in here and share their experiences??
Rev matching is to come, hopefully sometime in 2014 after it rolls out to the C4's. I was more concerned with your comment that you notice no difference between sport and sport plus. Was hoping it was just due to you having not finished the breakin period, thus not going over 4500 rpm.
Hi folks,
I've been lurking and learning around here for about a month. Lots of valuable advise and opinions.
Two questions:
1. Does anyone have a manual in a 3.4L 991, and if so, can I please get an evaluation. I drove one several months ago with a salesman, but it was a very short ride. I liked it. Since then I've driven a number of PDK's and they're great, just not for me.....yet.
2. I'm planning on custom ordering a 2014 991. What is a good time for getting the order going? I think Porsche starts production on them after the 2014 summer shutdown, but I have no idea when the order specification book is released.
Thanks, in advance!

2. I ordered end of March 2012 and picked up 2013 model on end of June. Mine was one of the earliest 2013 model that my dealer got.
I have a 2013 991(911) carrera S with PDK, sport chrono pkg, sport exhaust. The thrill of driving the Sport exhaust mode is great but in the Sport Plus mode, you enter a different dimension in driving!. In Sport Plus gears shift at alot higher RPM and makes more cracks and burps in the exhuast all adding to the thrill.
Took Porsche 4.5-5 months to build my 2013 911 Carrera S with Aerokit. I ordered in April, delivered in September. Note the Porsche factory closes for 2-3 weeks in August. I got the Aerokit CUP(love it) and that may have added to the long time.
I have a 3.4L manual with sports chrono. With the sports plus mode, the throttle response is sharper, however this is just a re-mapping of the accelerator displacement and some folks would rather punch the accelerator instead. The dynamic mount is good if you track your vehicle, otherwise most folks don't will not benefit from this.

When I get closer to ordering it, I'll post the options I plan. The best argument I've gotten about not getting a manual, is the possible difficulty in selling it someday. NBD to me.

Fantom: I have a 991s MT and love it. I drove the PDK, and as great as it is, it just wasn't for me.
Some have said that the 911 base is more conducive to a Manual Trans, as you're not rowing through the gears as much with a Base 911.
M5_2010: There is a difference btwn the modes, but far more noticeable when pushed towards spirited driving.
