I know it is advised to always drive long enough to get your car up to its maximum/optimal running temperature.
With this being said, is it bad to start and shut down your car to move it short distances (ex. garage to driveway)?

Well that's No Fun!!
Too Funny!! Probably a dumb question, but wanted to make sure.
I was told short start/shut downs will cause condensation to build up/mix with oil internally.

I don't think short stuff like you're talking about makes much difference. If I have to back my car out to move it for some reason, I do at least let the fast idle go down to normal idle before shutting it off.

Yeah the 991 is supposed to warm more quickly than the 997 but doesn't seem so to me.
Re repeated very short drives (like 10 or so ft to move the car around a parking garage) in the 997 at least this was known to sometimes trigger a CEL.

As someone else mentioned, it's good to let it warm up enough that the initial start up fuel and air sequence has ended. Otherwise you could get fouling of the spark plugs which can lead to problems eventually. It only takes a minute or two and it then should be OK to shut it down.

I thought it's not advised to do so during break-in period, that is 2000 miles.
Just a few seconds after the higher idle is gone. It will allow any extra fuel in the cylinder to burn off. I'm not saying that it's good to run a cold engine for only a minute or two, I'm just saying that this will keep the engine from running rough when you start it again after a brief start.
Speaking of operating temperature, I noticed that my car will warm up faster and to higher temperature with PSE in off, running at around 212-221 F in off and 200-212 F with PSE on. Have any of you noticed the same?

Excuse my slowness...but what if you just let the car run for like 3-4 minutes before doing anything...wouldn't that solve the problem?
Ie- moving from garage to driveway vice versa...or short trip to gas station/store...or 10 minute drive to work...
Only asking because if you think about it...most ppl drive daily to quick places or turn the car on/off rather quickly with less interval timing
Just thinking if you let her sit and run before doing anything...then it doesn't matter the distance your traveling...but I'm not an expert so that's why I pose the question
Any feedback would be great...want to make sure I do things right for my April build
