End of Break In Period, now what?
Hahahaha that should be almost as good as when I had 3 Nuns in the 911 with the roof down, arms in the at WOT screaming whoooopieeeeeee!!
Or the time with the 3 Swedish bikini models hehehe (no not at the same time as the Nuns
).
Or the time with the 3 bull riders.... actually... hmmm... we'll leave that one out...hehehhe
All you have to do to hear me scream... is play some French rap music!

I did not know you hung out in le hood! I think French rap is a Treaty violation! Now about those nuns in bikinis... .
Where in the tri-state area do you go for service?
Tomber la, tomber la chemise! Tomber la, tomber la chemise! Do you remember that French rap song from the late 90s?

As much as it pains me to go to the dealer for anything out of warranty, I went to Jack Daniels in Saddle River for this because the service light needed to be reset with the service and saving $100 wasn't worth having to beg the dealer to do that after going to an indy for the oil change. They have a "special" going on -- $190 for labor only for the oil change. I provided filter and oil. Other quoted I got in NJ from dealers were $375 all in, so I guess prices vary quite a bit. If you are changing oil at much less than 10k miles though (which again, I disagree with) you're probably better off going to an indy and saving the dough.
Hi everybody. I am getting closer to the end of the infamous 2,000 miles and I think by the end of next week, I will be done. Did anyone here change the oil after that? isn't it better to do it, to remove all the iron dust from the friction among new parts?
Thank you for your help!

Changed the oil/filter in my new Cayman S at 750, 1400 and 2K miles.
The oil looked so bad at 750 miles I changed it at 1400 to see if the oil looked better. It did and when I had the oil changed at the dealer at the end of break in I didn't even bother to look at the oil/filter.
If you do decide to change the oil/filter at 2K do like I did and be sure you capture the filter oil/element in a clean drain pan. I think after you see what that oil looks like, what the filter element looks like, you'll wish you would have changed the oil sooner...
BTW while your car is almost to the end of the "break in" period break in can continue for some miles afterwards.
What order are they affiliated with! I'm converting!
FYI,, In the NY area I've been using Rennwerke Porsche Ltd in Elmsford NY (Westchester county) for the last 12 years. They are almost a 'Porsche only' shop and do great work. An oil change there might run you about $240 complete. See the owner, John and tell him 'Nuke' sent ya. It's a very clean shop with very knowledgeable people.

because porsche dealer charges anywhere between $330 and up to (reportedly) $600
(All you have to do is to order oil filter from suncoast parts and buy 8 mobil 1 's 0-40 , then ask indy shop to change oil for you.) (total cost around $110)
your baby is worth it. You will also notice huge difference in response.

You really only got out of that what you wanted, huh?
