2012 991

Hi - a guy is selling his 2012 991 for $65k - has 24k miles and the car was in a minor accident that was fully repaired. Does this price sound way too low given mileage and accident history?

What is a minor accident? Do you know it as a fact or is that what he said? I'm always suspect of accidents unless you know the guy because you never know when there could be frame damage or if the repair shop did it right. Also, why would he be selling it if it is fully repaired right?

Not a bad deal if the damage is only cosmetic. Need pix or repair order to proof though

He said it was a minor accident and he gave me name and number of his Porsche dealer and the collision shop that did the repair work, so he doesn't seem to be hiding anything. I asked him if airbags deployed and to send me copy of accident report. He said he is selling his car because he is being deployed in the army.

The price seems too good to be true... And you know what they say..

So really want to be sure.

Thanks for feedback!

Nice deal, where was the hit, and what are the options on the car? If from the back near the engine bay make sure there is no frame damage. My targa had a bad hit from the back and while hard to feel or see - there was slight frame damage according the mechanic.

It was hit in the right front. I asked him for a copy of window sticker as well for all options.

I don't believe it is. Seller says he s a PCA member. I also found him as former moderator on mbworld.com. Seems legit.

...and are you sure it's a 991? There were 997 body styles that were 2012 model year also if I'm not mistaken.

Could be a 997 or 991 in 2012. Also, if it was a base, no optioned 991, they can sell in the real low 80's new. With a Carfax and 24k miles, that does not seem underpriced. If it was Certified and at a dealer it would be a bit more.

Front impact is not near as bad a rear impact so I would figure out where the damage was and go from there.

the deal is unbelievable. Get it check out a reputable place or a porshce dealership. Remember although you are buying it at a great price future resale will also be likely be less because of the accident.

Good luck

I know - it is a double edge sword in that regard. Get 2012 991 for a great price but more difficult to sell later and will bring less resale $. What to do ?
