First oil change - help please

Service reminder, 10+ days remaining till oil change message came up the other day. Two questions. Has anyone in the forum used the Durametric tool to reset the service reminder message and oil fill capacity, 7.5 qts or 9 qts ? TIA

I'm curious if we can use the Griots Oil Extractor for oil changes... It extracts as much (if not more) oil as a regular oil change.... Just wondering... My dealership charges $390 for 991 oil change.. (Ferrari 360 was $280)

thanks for the reply. The reason why i asked is because i remember reading the post in this forum that one member was having an issue of using the tool to reset the reminder. I am about to purchase the tool and want to make sure that it works.

A little more than 10 however it may only drain 8 to 9+ quarts. It's potentially messy but I measure the amount drained and refill that amount. Because the filter holds a small amount I'm usually about 1/4 quart low.

Didn't work for me and "customer service" wasn't.

It may be wasteful but considering that the drain is aluminum and so is the plug and they may be easily deformed I am also replacing the drain plug with the gasket. It's $5 or so.

Over kill to replace the plug. I changed my oil for 13 years on my 996 and for the last 3 years on my 997. Always replaced the washer but never the plug.
Always tourqued it to spec and they showed no wear at all.

Yes, since Exxon pays to be the recommended oil.
