Clear side marker installation question

Can the side marker release clip be reached without taking the wheel well liner out?

Just pull it out. No need to take out the wheel well liner. Very simple.

Place your hand into the wheel arch and pop out the back-end of the marker.

Then simply slide out towards the rear of the car.

Extremely simple.

Some of them are tight and need a little finessing. Gently push in at the center of the marker with your thumb and slide it towards the wheel; use the forefinger and thumb of the opposite hand to lift the end of the marker while your pushing and sliding.

Once the unit is out, disconnect the plug and set the marker aside. Be very careful if the wire is taught; you'll still be able to remove the plug, but you'll be working closely to the fender. It can't hurt to place a microfiber cloth behind the marker while your tugging the plug off.

Install the new marker using the reversed sequence of steps.

Once the new units are installed, place the old ones on the floor and stomp them twenty times; this helps to relieve some of the stress the old markers caused.

Nice video makes it look simple. But, in the 2nd installation did you see how he had the screwdriver in his hand and how close the tip got the quarter-panel!!! I can't watch it again because I know if that was me I would have gouged the paint...

I didn't like the orange bulbs inside clear markers, so I tried these clear LED replacement bulbs:

http://aznoptics.com/index.php?main_...&products_id=8

They are super, super bright and color temp is almost perfect.

Not sure but I think the "orange" is a requirement in the U.S. That is why the side markers come orange to US and white in Europe. When you change out to the clear markers, the bulb is orange for that reason.
