Aftermarket Exhaust? Anyone?
Aftermarket Exhaust? Anyone?
When I ordered the car, I didn't go for the sport exhaust, cause I think it's bit overpriced. But now, after driving around couple hundred miles, I feel i need some sort of update.
The 991 is no doubt better than my C63 coupe in every single way except the exhaust. I barely drive the c63 anymore to be honesty. lol.
I talk to my dealer about the sports exhaust. They said they have to go throw parts and labor, so comes up about 4K to do so.
So, anyone has done some sort of modification to the exhaust? Decat? or straight pipes?
I was think about the akrapovic....but that stuff is so so so expensive.....
So, please give some suggestion you porsche experts. lol
Thanks!!!
oh....by the way....does anyone know how to take the "dummy key" out? Cuz that's really.....
THe akraprovic....sounds amazing......anyone know the exactly price?

After looking at it a while if you want the option of on or off I think the Stock PSE installed after the fact is the most cost effective / best bang for the buck. After that I worry that the aftermarket stuff will be a little to good meaning annoying over time.
With regard to removing the key, Search is you friend.
As for aftermarket exhaust, I am typing this response from Fabspeed, where my PSE car is in for an install of Maxflo mufflers and BMC air filters. Check out Fabspeed's range of products on their site and on YouTube.

The Akra sounds great, and while a huge fan of their products (put it on my M3) I just have a hard time justifying the price. I have ordered the PSE for mine. For one thing it is factory, so never any issues there and I just think for bang for the buck it sounds really good. Just my usless $.02.
I considered the Akra setup, but 10k is hard to justify. Have a look at the TechArt exhaust. sounds great and is half the price!
its a little bit throatier than the akra, and sounds amazing on shifts. its also pretty mellow with the valves closed, which i like

I agree with your findings, sir. The Techart does sound very nice, smooth even. Nice find!
I currently have the standard exhaust.....Do you know if I only do the muffler bypass, would that gives the PSE's burble&backfire noise when left off?

We're selling quite a few of the Tubi systems for both the S and non-S cars. (there is a difference). Here's a vid of our system on a C2S...
Keep in mind, the S exhaust is valved, and the non-S is not.
