Hated PDK on my 997.2 C4S.

Love PDK on my 991S ! Entirely different experience than previous gen PDK.

I too really l like the improvements to the PDK over the 997's:
1. Doesn't jerk into gear at start-up
2. Permits slip to engage at 3500 RPM under aggressive acceleration.
3. Much nicer manual shifts.

Interesting thought.
I agree, automated transmissions are boring.

PDK is NOT an automated transmission. It has a little mini-Stig living in the box. He does the shifting. So it's clearly a Stig operated manual.
Boring, no - not this one.

If you live in a World with 35mph speed limits get a manual. At least that gives you something to do.
If not - PDK for this lad any day. It is epic..

As an aside, there is no price difference between the MT and PDK on the options list here. The result is that there are very, very few MT orders.

Lucky to able to experience both daily if I want to. Have had C4S with PDK for 2 yrs now. Have tracked it and use it as DD. Got a 07 gt3 last summer and learning the heel toe technique(WIP). Been on the track 7 times with it so far. Wife has a manual Boxster and hates PDK. She doesn't like the stiff clutch pedal of the gt3 either FWIW
So I PDK, 2 manual Porsches

I had a 997 turbo manual - amazing, and could be an everyday car but the clutch and gearbox was tiring in London traffic.. not to mention speed bumps and bad road surfaces. I have to admit stalling once or twice at the lights, not a good look!! great to work the car and gearbox through sweeping bends in the countryside...

But my 991 is PDK and I can't see myself looking back now. 90% of the time i drive it in manual and use the gear lever as opposed to steering wheel - its so slick. a real pleasure. seamless changes every time. and even faster/aggressive changes in sport plus mode.

My 2013 991 is on order and I chose a MT. Have not had a MT since I was 18, 20 years ago. It may make me feel like a kid again back in my 5.0 liter 92 mustang !!!

Like all my previous P cars, a MANual here.

If I didn't want a MT, I'd have purchased a Audi.

Is there a place you could exercise that turbo?
