Went to the 918 event in Birmingham, AL in December.
Got the whole sales pitch and two ride along sessions on the Barber Motorsports track.
It is an impressive vehicle and probably the future for Porsche. Blending an electric motor on each axle with the mid chasis internal combustion engine creates an awesome performance car.
Even if I could afford it I'm not convinced.
It was a cool day and we rode with the targa top off but I felt it was warm in the car. My suspicion is the battery created heat in the cabin as you sit on it.
Not sure who would pay $850 thou. for an unproven concept but it could be a great collector's car if it all works out.

 

Great pics, thanks for posting aljaberh! It's a beautiful car, and a studio of excellent engineering from Porsche, that said, I think it's overpriced by $300K.
