Major Issue @ 250 miles

I have a 2013 991 S with 250 miles. Today while I was accelerating (4000 rpm) the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. I am sitting on 5 simultaneous errors and including ABS/PSM failure, Power steering failure, sport mode failure, transmission failure. I am guessing I should take it in Monday morning, it seems to be in some sort of safe mode. Instead of shifting smooth as butter it shifts exactly like my old E60 BMW M5 in s1 (slow) shift mode. Super jerky and slooooow. Anyone ever seen this before?

Any engine noise?. Hopefully not.

I would not drive it anymore and have dealer come and pick it up.

Engine sounds fine, it just seems to be in limp mode. The car has smelled like clutch since I picked it up with 9 miles. Every time I got out of the car it had a faint clutch smell. Hopefully the PDK isnt failed.

I was hoping it was possible a computer glich....i'm not sure if the clutch smell is not a little common at first.

Some other owners could chime in on that.

Let them flatbed it to the dealer.

Did you get a check engine (emissions) light? That all sounds pretty electrical to me in nature. Follow the manual in these situations. Go thru each fault light and follow what it says in the manual. Do it to the letter of the law my friend. It's under warranty.

I'd be willing to bet the engine is fine - might be in your control unit...it's not the volts that get you, it's the amps.

Sounds like a sensor error to me, possible even vacuum hose leak or something.

I agree...I think the engine is fine...but with so many error messages where does he start looking at the codes?

You already did a restart in case it was a simple computer issue, right? If so, that doesn't sound good at all. I hope it is a simple issue.

I had a vacuum hose issue too when I got my X51 upgrade and got a coolant error, but it didn't light up the dash like yours!

Keep us informed

Breaker841 is infamous around these parts
Notify dealer immediately and do not drive. Sounds like a pdk failure for sure. No biggie though, they will put another one in for free.

My PDK did not smell at all when new. I would call 1800 Porsche and have them pick it up and take it to the dealer of your choice.

The smell could be cosmoline, a waxy protectant Porsche sprays on the engines and other components to help prevent corrosion. It is not unusual to smell this stuff burning off on a new car. However, to be safe as others have said, I would not drive the car until you get it checked out by your dealer.

I find it hard to believe that your car has suffered all of the failures that you mention at one time. Seems like a good possibility that you have some type of electrical gremlin that has made your car think it has all these problems occurring at once.

The smell could also be tires....

Had a new NSX and drove 10 miles to home & swore it was clutch smell. It was the Bridgestone RE010 Potenzas that were warming up....continued as long as I had it - no joke.

I still got that smell after 3,500 miles that I've put on it in the past few months.

The smell is perfectly normal in a new car; its the protective wax that burns off slowly.
The christmas tree is not normal...
