Red face Pic Heavy: Fabspeed + Vorsteiner install

Tuesday at Benchmark Motoring in Seattle, we put on the Vorsteiner rear deck lid spoiler and Fabspeed Maxflo side mufflers. We left the primary Porsche muffler untouched with the factory PSE completely intact.

It definitely feels like extra punch over 6000 rpm but thats my butt-dyno. Sound is tough to explain - it's like the 991 PSE before but has slightly more pronounced crackles and pops and it is more focused, if that makes any sense. It has a pleasant more-exotic (imo) resonance in normal driving that was missing before. It sounds good without the PSE activated now. PSE activated, it's a bit louder than before, not too much with just the side-mufflers..but now I really want to add the headers/cats. hehe. I don't have a good driving sound clip yet, just a few revs.

I can't touch the center primary Porsche muffler if I want to keep the factory PSE intact. I can only do the side mufflers (now done) and the Fabspeed Sport headers maybe in the future. If you have PSE and order the Fabspeed side mufflers, make sure they know you have PSE because the pipe from the muffler to the exhaust tip is not the same as without PSE. We had to modify our Fabspeed pipe (cut it to proper length) to make the install work. It took all day. It was a bummer waiting for the pipe to be cut by a local muffler shop, but we got it done.

Congrats, looks god and I like the 'crackles and pops' too. Adding the headers and sportcats will be a very nice combo.

Thanks a lot! I think those sport headers are definitely in the near future.

It is CF. Short of an expensive Porsche ducktail "Sport Aero" kit which would replace my existing powered up and down hardware, remove a button on my console, and leave me with original parts sitting in the basement until I sold the car..this was the most simple and elegant (not to mention cost-effective) solution I could find out of all the manufacturers.

I'm sure it's not for everyone, but we are liking it

It looks great....even more so than a Ducktail on the cab IMO + w/o having to deal with electrical mods/deletes - smart move.

I look forward to hearing the exhaust & meeting you face to face in the future - maybe at a Redmond Town Center cars event (possibly, maybe sunshine).

Thanks for the kind words - I think I'll always have Ducktail envy, but I can live with this.

Looking forward to it soon

thank you so much - I didn't really know how it would look until it was on..we held it up of course and all that..but thank goodness it works!

I had a guy in a 3-series BMW stalk me on the highway today literally circling the car twice and speeding up/slowing down with me on my rear quarter looking at the spoiler (it was deployed as we were doing 80ish) before following me off the exit (I was getting a little freaked out), stopping at my side window, and when I finally saw who it was in the car - it was two guys just grinning ear-to-ear and saying amazing...wow...great. lol!!

Sounds great.
I wonder how the mufflers would sound with the standard non PSE exhaust??

Car looks classy and sounds good. My car is going to be built in a week and I already have accessories laying around for it.
I also ordered the Fabspeed x-pipe for mine as I do not have pse. I knew I was doing the aftermarket exhaust so that is the reason I skipped pse. I also ordered fabspeed's nice polished tips.
I decided to just go with the x-pipe for now and see what kind of sound it has then will determine if I need the mufflers. When I spoke with David at Fabspeed he said with no pse go for the x-pipe as it will make the best sound and power gains. I really don't expect much power though, I hope it will sound good.
Anyway enjoy that nice ride you have !

When are you going to mount your GoPro to the rear bumper to give us a real taste?
