Sport Techno wheels painted black or exterior color

This dealer has a number of 911's with the sport techno wheels either painted black or in exterior color. How did they get them? Maybe it's now an option on the dealers ordering system but not on the Porsche configurator?

I think it's a case of it was an option on the configurator in the fall but was taken off before Christmas or even earlier. Or they've done it themselves but I doubt it.

It's interesting, the option codes are displayed when you click on a car and they list these wheels as painted. The Agate colored car near the bottom of the list are color matched. I don't recall ever seeing that. Unless of course you have a GT Silver car

Black painted wheels has been an option from time to time. My guess, and only a guess, is it probably changes with the suppliers ability to stay up with demand.

I am pretty sure that last summer and even early fall you could get the Sport Techno wheels painted the same colour as the car. Two rumours why they stopped doing it. First, is too many people selected it and they couldn't keep up and second that the paint wouldn't stay on the wheel under use.

not to unearth an old thread, but when i looked in late feb. the option was no longer in the configurator. it appears like it is back up as an option. am inquiring with my dealer whether that's the case and whether i can change my order. would be curious what others hear.

If you change your country to Germany the configurator still shows this option. It shows several other different options as well.

I have a c4s on order. I just emailed my dealer and asked them to do the wheels in exterior color which is Agate in my case and they said no problem and added it to the car. Check with your dealer, it sounds like they can do it.
