Suggestions for temporary front fascia protection?

I live in WV and bought a new C2S in South Carolina and plan to pick it up this Saturday. My region in WV only received around a half inch or so of snow, but some areas south of here (western Virginia) received a little more. I'm worried about any sand/gravel/salt remaining on the road, and would like to use a make-shift, temporary bra to protect the front of the car.

Using blue painter's tape is an easy solution, but I was wondering if anyone had other, less tacky ideas?

Thanks.

Painter's tape and brown kraft paper are what I would use.

I have used shelf paper for DE's. AT Home Depot they had black "leather grain" shelf paper. It is easy to apply and remove and with the simulated leather grain, the inevitable air bubbles and creases are less noticeable.

Whoa, that road warrior stuff is great. I'm going to by a 55 gal drum so I can jump in it before the next time I'm forced to fly AirTran or jet blue!

I would get some "Road Wrap." It comes in 6 and 8 inch rolls. I've bought it here: http://www.empirecovers.com/detail.a...&source=search and at Griot's Garage (don't think they carry it anymore). I use it to protect my door jams and other painted surfaces when I take my cars into the dealer for service.

There are some cool, task-specific suggestions in this thread!

I've just used 3M masking tape in the past with good results.

Picked the car up yesterday and used painters tape. Stopped to eat about halfway through my trip and did an inspection. A rock hit the front of the car and went through 3 of the 4 layers of tape that I applied. The tape saved me!

Pics forthcoming.

+1 on the Road Warrior stuff. I have used it on a couple of 3k mile+ drives and track days and never had a chip. I know for you it is too late as you already picked her up, but for others wondering, Road Warrior is great and you can pick it up at many larger Motorcycle parts stores and some of the larger Dealers as well.

If you have a clear bra and put on Road Warrior - is that overkill? If you start to peel off the Road Warrior with the clear bra on, will the clear bra also peel off or will it stay on?

Good question. Personally, once I have the clear bra on I don't use it anymore. The road warrior stuff more washes off then pulls off so I would THINK it would be ok, but I have never risked it. I would also be afraid that it might leave some sort of residue on the bra material. It does't on the paint, but all the clear bra materials are different so I would be afraid to try.
