Headlight film

Has anyone used the headlight film sold by suncoast?

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...xterior_Lights

When I had the XPEL film installed the dealer wanted a stupid amount of money to do the headlights so I said no. I was just going to leave them uncovered but I saw these from Suncoast. If this film is reliable it might be worth a try. Would appreciate any feedback from folks who have used it.

XPEL is a known brand. I'm sure it will be fine.

I bought the kit from Suncoast, but haven't installed it yet. Once the weather gets warm the vinyl will be easier to work with (even though i do plan to use a heat gun / hair dryer to assist), so I am waiting a bit longer.

Putting any kind of "cover" on the headlight is illegal in British Columbia.

When I got a quote from my Xpel installer (I'm doing it third party..bypassing the dealer...and he was going to throw the headlights in for free)...the Xpel installer recommended it, but the dealer did not recommend it?

Never asked why?

I have never done it, but from my experience doing other things, it is never as easy as it looks:

It shouldn't be too hard if you apply heat to keep the film pliable.

I've done it with much thinner vinyl on taillights before and it wasn't bad.

Wow, my headlights and fog lights were thrown in for free.
I'd recommend it, given they go for around $1,400 a pop to replace.

You can also buy the headlight kit from Xpel and do it yourself - quite a straightforward process and even has notches that you lineup.

I'll give the Xpel site a look and see what theirs is like. Might as well keep with the same film. Thanks for the idea.

Possible alternative? Looks foggy when he completed, but he said it is really clear when it dries. Don't know, and wonder if anyone has tried this, or wants to?

Same here, but they used a much thicker film.
