Trading new C4S MT for 11 GT3
Congatulation!!
I am thinking about the same. In less than 2 weeks, i will get my new 991 4S with aerokit and few options. Equipped like this, it is the same price as a GT3 loaded ...at least here in Canada.

I tought that a GT3 would be more expensive than a 4S loaded. I prefer the GT3 and this car would be my wekkend car.
Nice move.....

These type of threads pop up every now and then on car forums. I think everyone knows that they have to eventually decide for themselves but if one is uncertain then why not get some opinions here? It's what we are here for!
And he never wrote that it was his only car or his daily driver, only that he drives his Porsches. So the DD argument may not matter whatsoever.
Regarding the 991 GT3 with PDK, (I feel I write about this in every post now...) some of us just want a manual gearbox, no matter how good, fast, great and amazing an autobox is.. I don't understand how people do not get this. If you loved sailing more than anything, would you buy a motorboat? No, even if you were offered the best motorboat ever made, you would still get a sailing boat. Same thing manual vs pdk.
To the OP, to me it sounds like you are going for the GT3. The C4S might be a great car, but the GT3 sounds like it's your dream. Life is too short to not persue our dreams.. so if I were you I would make the trade.

I usually view them as a waste of time .
I did not quote anyone in my first post but replied to the thread because I saw how many forum members actually took time in placing thought into their answers . It bothered me enough to point out what i felt was lacking in the first post and why the entire thread made no sense to me .
If one is (paraphrasing) here to give an "opinion" -then that was my opinion !!!!
As for your reference to him "never" saying the GT3 was a DD
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/gt3-gt2-gt/303734-anyone-using-their-gt3-their-daily-driver.html
I don't understand the logic in buying a c4S calling it the "best" and then trading it in the same post (for a used car which being a Gt3 has an added risk exposure to having miles driven hard) . The entire subject of trading a new car for a used ( track driven) car was not even discussed !!
Regarding the PDK Vs manual -- I have had both and find strengths and weakness with either . I don't care if someone wants to buy either .
What I don't understand is how one can make a statement of absolute certainty without even seeing and driving the car . I view that as a willful self imposed ignorance . It feel its a component of blind decision making.
It's not the same as a sailboat/motorboat analogy when one draw a comparison the exact same model's (the Gt3) evolution.
So I think the bigger question is how much more nonsense is there to waste time deciphering through ?

I should not bother arguing on further as I respect your opinion and -honestly- value it. I just don't value the way you express your self and your motivations just don't seem plausible.
It makes me think why so much venum here?..
To me there are two possibilities:
you are either the upset dealer that I turn down last minute (and still calling me telling I don't know what I want), (you certainly read like him)
or you are just an obsessed CS4 / CS2 owner...which is fine I don't blame you
As I said in terms of OVERALL satisfaction, from the 2 weeks I drove it, the CS4 had the potential to overshadow the GT3.
I wanted to highlight a couple of ideas I got from all:
1) Like other members said..buying a P-car is not a rational decision but rather emotional; errors can be costly indeed and it seems you just can't digest it.
2) As you can see, my posts are reflecting true investigation with respect to wether or not a GT3 can be a daily driver. Turns out it can be and my
personal opinion was right from the 3 test drives I had.
Then I had another post asking on what to do to detect Lemon GT3's and I was advised to perform DMO and PPI which I did
So what else do you think was left to be done for someone to feel confident
and buy a 4000 miles GT3 with original tires ? -- that look new?
Finally, if you don't understand my logic and I don't understand yours,
one thing you can do is accept it the way I do with yours
Once again, PDK I am not in position to comment since it is a sensitive issue
and there are truly two schools here. I am the old one and I will never be willing to drive an automatic even if it can read your thoughts about shifting
Think about it like that If you are a pianist (regardless the skill) you will never accept to stop playing without petals even if there is an interface that will allow that.

gt3niac, in this case it's really only about whatever floats your boat that matters. So enjoy! I know that the GT3 is an awesome driving experience and one that IMO every Porsche enthusiast should have at some time. I'm glad you appear to have found a gem of a GT3.
Just a pointer (which I'm sure you've researched). Make sure the 997.2 GT3 has the optional Dynamic Engine Mounts.
Btw, all this talk about GT3's is also making me miss mine ! I think I'll be going for the 991 version when the order books open.
Here's the one I had.

I am not "the upset dealership" . In fact I have never worked for a dealership .
I am neither a C2S or C4S "obsessed" owner .
I don't even own one at this moment and I also happen to like the 997 Gt3 as well as the 991 .So I am not even playing favorites with the two cars . I like both !!! I also like manual as well as PDK and have owned BOTH.
I do own a 997 Turbo and have owned 5 C2S cars and one other Turbo . I also have a new Cayenne so I am a long time multiple Porsche owner and have posted here in 6 speed for several years .
I don't care what car you buy or who you buy it from .
I don't appreciate these false statements about me .
That is the only reason I even replied to you now . .
I have not accused you of anything except what I think is illogical reasoning with regards to these cars . I don't wish to discuss it with you because I feel its a waste of my time.
A person writes a post and someone else replies . That is what a public forum is . It doesn't mean everyone will reply in agreement or even reply at all.
