I've punched it in first and second a bit out here in town with local sheriffs parked end-to-end talking at the church parking lot nearby and so far, haven't had any problems. (I didn't realize they were there We have some loud Harleys around here too though, too. Maybe we don't have a noise ordinance or something. That officer must have been upset about something else, that is a bummer.

Cop's a jerk. Make sure that you wear a very conservative suit and tie to court. Address the judge as "Your Honor" and be very soft spoken. Be attentive and responsive to questions from your lawyer and the court.

In my experience those type of cops rarely show up at court.

You can also call the police station to find out what day the cop is off (just call everyday until you find out what day he is not there) and ask your court date to be rescheduled for that day of the week so you are sure he will not be there and your case could be dismissed. Never tried myself, not sure the trick really works...

I like this one ^.

Appreciate the feedback and support. Like I said, I am fighting it. We'll see what happens...... my dad (who is 68 and has had his fair share of tickets and has not been treated great by the cops) thinks I should file a complaint (basically harassment as cop was screaming at me) just to **** the cop off. It will be in his file when he goes for reviews, etc. and I can then offer to withdraw the complaint if he drops the ticket. Not sure I like this idea.

Don't go there my friend.
Crazy always wins and why in Gods name would you tempt fate.
Fight the ticket and move on with your life...

Don't do that. You want a small footprint. You want payback? Win first and ask your attorney for guidance.

Mike, where is your state of registration? Call your DMV and ask them if moving violations in other states are reported to them. If your license is from NY, for example, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the only out of state violations that would be reported to the NY DMV are DWIs. If that's the case in your state as well, just pay the 150 bucks or whatever and no harm done.
Re the loudness, the other day I trailed my car on my friends cab. I was very surprised how much louder the car sounds from the exterior.

Michael,
It was really great to meet you Saturday and I am sorry you are in this situation. While I am an attorney, I am a Patent Attorney and have no special expertise in this area, except from being on your end of the tickets. That said, you never win with cops - and they have friends (even the jerks), long memories, and the means to bust your chops early and often. And your beautiful car is...well...not inconspicuous!

Let your lawyer earn his money. He will talk to the prosecutor, who will not want to waste time with a trial and you will plead down to something with no points. You will pay the ticket as, after all, the traffic system is not a means to protect drivers, to keep things moving, or anything other than providing a revenue stream. And you will take pleasure in the fact that you are driving home in a dream and he is not!

Stay cool on the Palisades and we will all hope that this is a one time event!
Hope to see you again soon and best of luck.
Michael

Thanks Michael. It was great to meet you as well and hope we can get together soon. I'm sure the lawyer will take care of it. I drove the P car again today (X5 in shop as an airbag went bag and threw about every code known to mankind) and was taking the same turn today. I actually thought about turning off the PSE.... but I didn't. I also had the opportunity to confirm there was no way in hell he saw me come around the bend to head N up the Palisades. Not physically possible. Too far and obstructed.

I'm sure the lawyer will be able to secure a positive outcome with respect to the points..... of course my wallet will not necessarily agree!

Sorry you have to go through this. Cop sounds like real ******bag. It's unfortunate that some feel they have the power to make life miserable for those that appear more fortunate than them. If they only understood how hard we work to be able to afford and "Earn" these cars. I have great respect for law enforcement, but unfortunately there are some crooked ones out there. It'll come full circle one of these days for the officer and he/she will regret their shady actions. Best of luck fighting.

Exactly, but you never see the Harley owners get a ticket.

Screw this shady cop, he's just looking to make a commission on a ticket you didn't deserve. remember it's our tax dollars that pay for him to "protect and serve" and he is only trying to serve himself. I am not totally against filing a complaint against him if he had an aggressive attitude towards you which is unprofessional and totally un-needed. If the department gets multiple complaints from different people then he may he may feel negative effects from his bullying attitude. I respect law enforcement for the tough job they do but when they abuse their power, the citizens need to fight back. This just has my skin crawling and I can't stand this kind of dis-respect from cops.

Fight it all the way and don't turn off the pse, until they outlaw harley's no one should have a problem with your exhaust.
