Tire pressure

So, I just changed my tire pressure yesterday after almost 3 weeks at factory race setting of 36/44 to 32/35. Wow, what a difference! The ride is soooo much more smoother and a lot less jarring. I much prefer the comfort setting. It's like I am driving a new car again 3 weeks later! Glad i did it. I have it on comfort 20 summer partial load setting. Here is a link shedding a little more light on the situation. Hope this helps!

The factory full load >165 mph settings are insane. I use the partial load comfort <165 mph setting and the pressure is great for daily driving and pressures are decent for the track as well.

Hehe. My summer pressure so far is 33/43 cold and only been up to around 35-6 / 45-6 in the 50 degree weather so far.

Because you never know when you need to do a sustained 184 mph and by golly, I need to be ready.

I just changed mine today. Wow , rides much better and not as much road noise. 31 front and 34 rear with 20" tires.

Thanks for the post and link. I've been kicking this around for a bit and your post pushed me to do it. I am really glad I did. Took her for a spin and it was a dramatic difference. We have some pretty bad roads here so it's pretty easy to see the difference. Set mine to 32 and 36.
Interesting when I looked at my pressures before they were 35 and 46 cold, but the display showed comfort setting. So factory or dealer set it that way. So I lowered them and set it for comfort again..

I have 20" wheels and use 32/36 also; much more comfortable for the road.

I have been running mine at 36 front / 44 rear for 12,000 miles. I do not find that ride to at all harsh. In fact when delivered the pressures were 32 f / 35 r and the can tramlined on the highway. Increasing the pressure made the car much more stable on our New England roads!

For those that have lowered their tire pressures have you noticed the tires wearing differently, or shorter tire life?

So if i lower mine from 44 to 36 i get a nicer ride and it's still okay to get high speed corners?

It definitely doesn't corner as well with the lower pressure, but IMO good enough unless you're on the track (or autobahn).

Thank you for the education. I run 36/44 and have never thought the ride is too harsh, but what do I know. . . This is my first Porsche. I am going it try 32/35 and test the difference.
Thanks again Naaranha.

I can get a 2 to 4 lb swing when the tires warm up, and when driving on a hot sunny day in FL, it can be on just the side the sun is shining on.
