Magic bonnet release

Has anyone wowed their friends with the touchless bonnet release with the keyless entry and drive? It's like magic! I am easily amused. I am on day two of ownership and still learning a lot about my car. I will post photos after my clear side markers arrive. If you didn't know that you could perform this magic trick. You must stop what you are doing and go perform magic this instant.

Its great fun - congrats!! One note, when washing car be careful if key is in pocket (outside car) as the front lid will sometimes open with water contact, grin. Enjoy!!!

I made kids believe it was activated by voice and that you needed to know the secret password
Keep enjoying the car

If by bonnet you mean the frunk release, then yeah, it's pretty cool. Dealer didn't even know about it...

I do find it rather annoying that you still have to release the latch in addition. I feel that kind of defeats the purpose of the touch release, but I guess they must have done it for safety reasons (i.e., in case it gets released while driving, the latch prevents the hood from flying up and blocking your view).

It would not block your view at all, after it tore off and, hopefully, flew up and over the car. And not through the windshield.

The catch doesn't annoy me at all.

I had the same issue with the dealer. Day I took delivery I tried to open the Frunk with my hand but it didn't work. Dealer said it couldn't work even though I had Porsche Entry. On day 2 I realized I was putting my hand in the wrong place by about 2-3 inches. Works fine now.

Yeah... hand placement is key. When I first got it I would put my hand near emblem and it wouldn't work consistently. The Porsche "Driving Home" video even shows it this way.

I quickly realized that the magic spot was actually on the bumper, just below the center of the hood. I haven't had a single problem since.

I love messing with that feature. I put things in my frunk that would just as easily ride next to me in the passenger seat or floor, just so I can mess with it. Everyone I show is blown away at first and asks me all kind of crazy questions about how it works. It seems that most people assume that it is somehow matched to ME before they think that it may be matched to the key.

Why yes, yes it will!

(OK, I would have laughed less about it had the water gone in, as it was it was just a brief 'wtf!?' moment until I realized what had happened.)
