Time between build completion and arrival at dealer?
Hello all - question for the wise folks on the forum. I locked an order on MY 2013 C2S coupe a few weeks ago with an expected build completion date of May 10th. The dealer tells me that the Porsche dealer software shows a 6 week delay between build completion and arrival at the port in the U.S. (Rhode Island in my case), followed by another week until arrival at the dealer in N.J. In my case, arrival at the port is estimated between June 14 and June 21, and arrival at the dealer is estimated by June 28. The dealer also said that based on his experience and my build date of May 10, he anticipates that my car may get here earlier. I'd appreciate if anyone in the Northeast who has ordered a car recently can tell me the time between build completion and arrival at the dealer. The wait is unbearable as it is, and I'm hoping my car surprises me in the middle of June.

I think that timeline is not that far off. I had a Feb build.
02/22 Arrived at port Edmen
03/20 Arrive at port of Brunswick
03/26 Arrive at dealer
03/27 Delivery
So, in your case, I bet you get it a week before they say. It will be worth it, but it is tough to wait.

Your dealer is accurate. I had a March 13 build and it was ready for pickup at the dealer on April 15 but I needed the steering wheel refinished and it took an extra week or so... very hard to wait but its over before you know it and then you can enjoy.
I would estimate about 6 weeks from VIN and your expectations maybe improved upon... Nice build, congrats!

Thanks so much guys! I'm currently driving an M3 convertible (6MT), so I'm not exactly slumming it, but the 911 has been my dream car since I was a little kid. So the wait is excruciating! Can't wait to join this club.

I'm right there with you. The build of my 991 should be completed tomorrow if the date estimates are accurate and I can't wait to see it in June.

Just got an email from my dealer that production of my car has been completed. One day early! Porsche software still showing arrival in late June, but the dealer expects it to arrive in mid June. The anticipation builds. Don't know how everyone here deals with the wait. The dealer must hear that a lot, as his email concludes: "It's coming and good things are worth waiting for."

My build was in 2012, but the car was built March 5, out of QA on the 7 th and on a ship on March 8 th. I drove it for the first time on March 30. It seems I caught everything just right. Often the bottleneck is after completion waiting for a ship, weather in transit, in port to clear customs - there is nothing anyone can do in port until it clears customs (have heard that taking a few days to a week) (don't know if the sequester will slow things)
My dealer was Jack Daniels in New Jersey and my car came into RI as well. So it could be just over 3 weeks. But 4-5 seems more typical.
I know it is tough to wait. Best of luck!
