So looking into the ticket policy there after the drive, it looks like a ticket there may not go onto the VA points / insurance record, but it is a felony (assuming I understood it correctly). Hmmm, not sure which sounds worse.

Based on comments on some biking forums, enforcement is a bit laxer during the week, particularly when it's still cooler out, and 10 or even 15 may go; less so on the weekend. 35 is actually reasonable for some corners where you could have hikers / tourists with cameras crossing the road, though it's definitely somewhat crazy for some of the straighter spots where you might hope to at least see 45.

Not posting specifically why I might have researched that after the drive since that sounds as wise as putting stuff on Facebook, but no, I didn't get a ticket and certainly wasn't doing anything like the motorcycles (! ).
Yes, it is my understanding that if you are stopped for going over 95 mph in VA it is a felony, with jail time but I am no expert. I have to make sure to save it for the track

Is the HWY part of the Blue Ridge Parkway, running from NC to VA?

The asinine thing is this:

Reckless driving - speeding in excess of 80 mph (11 years)
Reckless driving - speeding 20 mph or more above the posted speed limit (11 years)

So doing 81 on a 75 highway is 'reckless' driving and stays on your record for 11 years. Doing 80 on a 60 will get you the same. Huh? (Not that 80 on a 60 is a safety issue if traffic/conditions aren't a problem, but to just say 'over 80' even when the limit is 75 is just insane.

It is what it is, just something to watch out for in VA. Not sure when stuff is a felony, and someone was just telling me that speeding in the park would be a 'federal offense' but not a felony, FWIW.

Great photos, I was there a few weeks back and the leaves were still not out. Speeding there is too easy and the Rangers are not kind.

Cheers,

Not sure... I believe it is but that's at the other end for me, as I live in NVA

I got the front plate mount kit from http://www.usmillworks.com/

It is excellent but I have to say it takes a while to position. They make it look so easy but I have some suggestions, especially with the SPASM front spoiler lip. Make sure you tape up the area around the mount - be generous with the painters tape because the mount will spin as you mount it. Something else to consider when mounting is to enlist the help of someone (in my case my wife) because it can be a little tricky. Also get the lightweight one, I prefer the finish of it!

I went down to Tyson's today and found another C4S with the same mount.
