Tested a gloss and paint sealant - Wow! (pic heavy)
Tested a gloss and paint sealant - Wow! (pic heavy)
After a great drive this morning I decided to wash the car and try out the Wolfgang Deep Gloss and Paint Sealant (no affiliation to them) which I ordered after reading other 6er's recommendations. I had waxed my car last week with Einzett Polishwax so today I just did my normal wash and dry and then applied the Wolfgang product as per their instructions to the car including the clear bra and other leading edges which have the film.
I was expecting the result to be good but it was spectacular! I thought I should share my review and pics with others who also suffer from my car cleaning affliction!

Wow, that looks great. I will be getting some of that shortly! I can't understand how it can do so well over the clear bra - but who can argue with those results. How often is it reapplied?
And canchludo is correct about the PtAg. Not sure why it is available for the cayman, but no longer for the 911.

You're right. IMO it's right up there as one of the best silver's Porsche has offered. I'm still intrigued by platinum's ever changing variations.
AG, Wolfgang says that the application should stay for months. I doubt that. I'll probably continue with my regular regime of Einzett waxing once a month then follow it up with the Wolfgang gloss polish every two months.
I too can't figure out the PtAg issue. I assume its now available as a custom color. I haven't seen Rhodium Silver for real yet but by all accounts its lighter and with a blue hue making it somewhat of a cold silver. We may be stuck with it for 2014.

That is the product Chuck. I'll try to take pics of other panels which in reality have turned out as good as the hood.

I used the same sealant and agree it looks awesome. The selling point to me is that it lasts longer. I can't say that it does yet but we will see.
It applies easily and rubs off easily. Two unusual characteristics are that you have to wait longer then normal to wipe it off, 20 min to an hour. And you are not supposed to get it wet for 12 hours (I think). Which is overnight for all practical purposes.
From what I have seen so far I see no reason to wax even if it lasts as long as wax.
Not sure about the clear bra application though? Sure it won't yellow?

The instructions state that the product is safe for vinyl so I went with it on the clear bra. Not sure about it yellowing over time.
Hi,
I've been using this Wolfgang product for many years and always recommend it to anyone who's serious about maintaining their automobile's finish.
The Wolfgang sealant won't last very long unless it's applied properly; you shouldn't apply the product directly over wax, as it will come off with the wax.
If your car's finish is blemish free and doesn't need clay-bar treatment, wash it with Dawn detergent to remove the old wax, then apply Meguiar's 205 polish, which will remove those annoying little swirl marks and other types of blemishes.
Then apply the Wolfgang as directed (allowing the Wolfgang to cure overnight in the garage is very important).
Now here comes the big trick: any good sealant such as Wolfgang needs a fresh coat of carnauba wax from time to time to maintain its luster. I personally see great results with Mother's California Gold Pure Brazilian Carnauba wax; you don't want to use a "cleaner" wax, as it'll remove the Wolfgang sealant.

A question that was asked... from your experience is the product ok to use on clear film/bra?
I don't personally have a clear bra, but the stone-guards are made by 3M and they haven't had any adverse reactions to the Wolfgang sealant or the Mother's wax.
Just keep any alcohol-based products far away from the film; ask me how I know.
