Walked in to discuss a 991 and left with a .....
Very nice purchase, and well equipped. I see nothing wrong with dropping $85k on that car, even if it's not a 991. IMHO, Porsche has matured this platform well and, both the Boxster and Cayman 981's are magnificent, IMHO. They are not a "Porsche for those who can't afford a 911"... They stand on their own very well. I drove a 987 Cayman S last year, and that was by far the most FUN car I have ever driven. How much more for you with the top-down, on the 981 platform!!!
With the power & suspension upgrades, & the new cosmetics these things are fabulous. Way to go, sir.
(if only we could get the 3.8 offered in this but alas....)

(I second the 3.8. I have no practical idea why this doesn't happen. And it shall remain a deal breaker for me)
Re: OP - Congrats Larry!
I agree, the previous boxsters, you can't tell the front from the back and looks like a bathtub. The new boxsters and caymans almost looks exotic up close. IMO, the new Boxster is the best looking Porsche right now.

Everything else about that car is just right.
Hey my friend, hope you enjoy her! Top up noise improved a lot with this model change. I didn't recall you were a big fan of the open air motoring, so I hope you do get a chance to enjoy some top down time!
No one else asked, what will the mods be? ??

This car will remain stock . I did step out of my comfort zone with a first convertible . What i found is that the car is compact enough and the door sills are high enough that I don't even feel as though it is "open aired" (compared to larger vehicles. I had never even considered the last gen Boxster withthe exception of the Spyder . The new car impressed me that much . The change in the Boxster (from the last gen) is so huge that proportionally speaking its as if porsche went directly from a 996 to a 991 . It's that dramatic of a change .
I want to thank everyone for the gracious comments . I drove the car today back to back with my 997 Turbo . What a huge contrast . I will post about it in the Boxster section but realting it to this thread someone mentioned "fleet theory" and I do like that term to describe having these two cars .
I am very happy with the purchase .

Those tail lights prevented me from buying new. Maybe in a few years I'll get used to them or, even better, they will have changed the design again.
