C4S vs GT3
C4S vs GT3
After much self examination, and soul searching, I ended up deciding on starting over with my 991 order. I was sure about the C4S, but considered the extra performance in the GT3 is worth the extra wait.
I based my decision on the fact that this car won't be a daily driver, and as a weekend car driving a GT3 will feel even more special. I had done some autocross with the local PCA club with my C4S and look forward to continuing in a GT3. Maybe some track time in the future.
I configured the C4S just shy of $130 K and with the GT3 with only a few necessary options, the order came in at $136K. I had to step back and really think whether a C4S and a GT3 are equal cars and consider their individual merits seperately with so little difference in price.
Just sharing my own perspective. We all have similar experiences I'm sure. Happy motoring.

Rhodium silver. Speculating about the color, but feel confident with enough similar qualities with GT silver that I won't be disappointed.
The GT3 it is a far better choice for a plaything. I tried hard to live with one but there are too many weekend trips on my weekends.

I didn't quite get that far with final pricing. I thought if I ask very nicely they might give me a few % off. And I can be very nice when I need to be.

I'm new to Porsche so please don't jump all over me for asking, but what are the back seats in any 991 actually good for? I won't have my car for several months and never envisioned using the back seats for anything other than my small dogs on rare occasions, and to put stuff. So, how would their total absence in the GT3 actually make any difference to an owner?
It's very different when you compare a Bentley Continental GT to its Super Sports edition because the Bentley rear seats can actually seat adults with a modicum of comfort and legroom, so their absence in the SS would me missed in a DD.
But since Porsche made the GT3 to be a mostly track car, who needs those unusable back seats, anyway?

Not to thread hijack but can you give us details? My s4 with PDCC and PASM will be here shortly and I'm concerned about clearance in my driveway and other areas where I'll be. TIA
Yes on the lift, already scraping the driveway with the C4S. Have to make a habit of backing in to parking spots that have high bumpers.
Backseats is a non issue, use a different car if we have passengers. Putting an average size adult in the backseat of a 911 is a fast way to lose friends.
