OT: help on suggesting replacement for BMW 335

And also +1 for the RS5 or S5 or just a A5...

1M you mean I guess... M1 was a bit of a different car, allthough very nice car too
But the 1M and 1-series convertible have the same problem as the 3 coupe or convertible in my opinion. Both are the old model 1-series. They will be replaced early next year with the 2-series.
If BMW is the way you want to go, maybe you should wait. There are some nice cars coming from BMW in the next 6-12 months.

Apparently is YOU who hasn't read the thread. If you read my very first reply it was a simple "M3" answer (post number 6). The Op did not reply and it's three days later.
You can can call my opinions "oudated" in complete ignorance of knowing what cars I have driven or go off on a limb and speak of "us all" instead of in the first person. (reveals a lot ) .... implying in absolute terms that no one in the universe could possibly share an opposing view about an Audi car .
The Op in post number one did in fact ask for "opinions". If you specifically wanted to know which Audi cars I have driven and why my opinion differs you could have asked . You didn't.
BTW . if you drive an audi car and like it .. good for you !! My adverse opinion ought not effect your driving enjoyment reality .
Yet your specific request to "minimize " my opinions almost seems like a weak attempt to silence them.
I tell you what . If you dont like my posts you can choose to either reply or ignore . Pretty simple really !!!

n't believe all the Audi recommendations . I dislike the car so much that i even reject them as loaner cars . I can go back in time to the cars with the transmission snags of the 1980's or fast forward to the A4 sharing the same console with the VW Jetta in the 90's but I have never understood why anyone would buy an Audi over a BMW .. unless AWD was a necesity
As for me I've owned MB, BMW and Audi. I currently have a Q7 in the garage and my most recent BMW is an M5. Really enjoyed my MB as well just wanted more power. The simple fact is each car company will have its strengths and weaknesses. BMW is a great drivers car but has suffered from weak interiors. MB is a good all around car but lacks excitement and Audi has some of the best interiors and build quality but is limited in the handling department due to AWD.
The OP should take his wife and test drive as many cars as she needs to find a winner. That is really the only way to make everyone, especially her happy!
My wife has a 2007 BMW 335 coupe. She is thinking of replacing it and has asked me for ideas. My preference FWIW is that she picks a car that I also would like to drive. She does not want a P-car as she feels that she can drive the 991 anytime. Here are a few of the things she would like: not too big, two door, sporty, convertible and MT are a plus. Of course she could opt for another 335, but just wondering if anyone here can offer ideas. Thanks!
i don't think they offer MT.. but what sexy lines on the body and i've heard it drives great !
That's definitly a nice perk that BMW offers! Wish they did that over here
Those are some very nice M3 cars you had. Thumbsup!
But in the the end... You're right. There's no substitute
allthough I love other cars too, but Porsche just has something special.

I just can't seem to find in any other car at this price level what i have found with Porsche .
I realize the Op does want another Porsche but I must say tis car is totally different than my 911 and both are fun in different ways . As the other things he requested (manual. convertible, etc) this car meets all those criteria and it's a heck great daily driver . thecomfort level of the longer wheelbase Boxster makes it very useable and much more practical than i had imagined .
