Window Tinting?

I have never had windows etc tinted but am curious about maybe getting some sort of minimal tint done for my 991. Not a big fan of blackened windows but looking at something very subtle.

If anyone has very tinted windows that are subtle (maybe 5% or 10%), could you please post pics? I am curious to see how ti looks on the car. Thanks in advance.

I had to tint my silver 2009 C2S, but have not had to do my silver 991. I too have wondered if I should do it for the silver / dark window contrast but I actually enjoy it the way it is. I think I read somewhere that the windows have a UV protection in them already. Whatever it is, I still have my AC at 74 and I'm very comfortable even in these 100 degree Dallas days.

Actually, a subtle tint would be around 50%. They measure the transmitted light. A typical tint would be around 35% and the really dark tints are in the 20% range. I think you'll be happy with something around 50%.

This is 20% too dark I went too far.

I like the way it looks and I like the fact that it is hard to see in the car. I don't like that fact that at night it cuts your vision.

In Illinois, the illegal limit is 35% tint. That's a good level.

Actually looking at the nano film stuff that I saw posted by Premier. Very minimal tint but gives great heat reflection etc. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ferrerid=77825

Thanks for all the input. Based on the thread below, it looks like I would like to have somewhere between 75% and 60%

Thanks Chuck! From the Rennlist thread on the nano tint used on the Panamera, I like the 75% they used on the windshield.

Go with Spectra PhotoSync if you can find an authorized dealer. Prestige Film Technologies currently only allows 2-4 Spectra Dealers per state. To date, it's the best film in heat rejection and durability that we've tested. Here's a test we did to document how well PhotoSync performs compared to limo tint:

+1. I think a 35% tint is perfect. It complements the car, and vision at night is just fine. I've attached a couple of pics of my car with the 35% tint.
