Jack Daniels Motors

Good morning everybody!

Following CarreraPete's experience, I would like to gather some feedback on Jack Daniels Motors....

I bought my 991S from them in November and the salesperson (Paul Majeune) did a lot to help out (like switching Carrera Classic wheels on the car I wanted...), but that is pretty much it for me.

1) They sent me in January a "Get Ready for Winter" email. "Come to Jack Daniels and get a 35 points inspection, plus a free Porsche gift!". I drove from Long Island there. No inspection (Your car is two months old and 2,000 miles, no need) and no Porsche gift (Really? we wrote that? I didn't even know)

2) I told them I wanted to install PSE. "we'll get our Motorsport division call you. You can do much more than that". Never received a call from them.

3) My car has been sitting at the dealer for a while, so after only 4 months of ownership, the Oil Change light came on. Basically, it needs an oil change after 12 months of life, whether it has been driven or not. So i called my salesperson, saying that I believe the oil change should have been on them, and not on me, since the car was brand new. He said "Yes! I will have our service department call you". Never received a call. Called again 3 times this week. "We'll call you back in 10 minutes". Never heard from them again.

Now, I live within 15 minutes drive from 4 (FOUR) Porsche dealers, AND I work in Manhattan where there is another one. Seriously considering scrapping Jack Daniels from my iPhone Contacts and see if any other local dealer CARES for a new client who tends to get carried away when it comes to Porsche....

Any feedback? I hate to take business away from people, but you have to put a little bit of effort to get money in this economy.....

Sorry no experience with the specific dealer. A suggestion. Fill out the Porsche questionnaire that usually follows after every service visit and be entirely frank in your responses. There will be consequences! PCNA will be on their backs.

I think your decision has been made.
Move on - you've given them numerous chances and now you can go forth with a clear conscience.

Move on, but skip the dealership in Manhattan - not the greatest place.

Ale - JD was my dealer as well and I live in NY. While they gave me the best deal dollar wise, some of my calls and queries to them have gone unanswered as well. Unfortunately, I think this is the rule nowadays, rather than the exception. It has been my experience with a number of different car dealers that, once the car is sold and they have the money, there is very little follow-up or "customer care/service". I don't intend to use them for service as it too far, and have been looking for one closer. If I find one I like, and has the passion, I will certainly let you know.

Old saying:

"Can't complain about the service when there isn't any"

Old school mentality from that dealer....they'd be history in my book.

Thank you everybody for your replies....

I think I will either stick to the Huntington Porsche (where I had great service) or go to Legend Porsche (where I bought my A8, since they are also an Audi dealer)...

One off topic. Next week I may pass by the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen. If they sell 911_50 stickers, T shirts, anything....anybody here interested?

I cant carry too many large things, but stickers for sure....

Let me know!

I went to Jack Daniels Motors when i was looking to buy my 991 but i really didnt like the place. They didn't care if you bought the car or not it was more like shopping at a big chain store. When you are buying a car like the 991 you really want the dealer to care and treat you right. I ended up not buying the car and went to another dealership.

Isn't oil burning pretty common and just add some yourself? Don't need to formal oil change unless you reach the mileage or a year.

Sounds like Jack Daniels is driving you to drink Jack Daniels

Of course for the Tshirt, just tell me the size and maximum price (I just paid last month $110 for a really nice 911_50 Polo shirt)...

Regarding the oil change, it is the formal time for it. The car tells me every day that it's due...

I did my 10k oil change at Jack Daniels because their price was the best around (from dealers) and because they let me use my own oil (Redline). The experience was fine.

Town Motors in Englewood are very good, friendly and middle priced. Manhattan is also very good but costs a fortune for most things.

The 911_50 T shirt is Euro 59 in Germany (about $80 US) and the Polo is Euro 79 (approx. $106 US). Generically the Porsche advertising items are not available in the Museum shop (which I think gives 15% discount to PCA Members). However, they can be found (but limited sizing) at Porsche Zentrum, just across from the Museum. They give 10% (I believe still do) to PCA members.

They stink. Been there numerous time they never follow up, etc.

Go to Town in Englewood. I have contact info if you need. They have been great to me.
