This reminds me a lot of the M3 driving off a cliff. I don't see any reason why an intelligent person would think it's a good idea to drive like this on a public road, even if closed.

Very nice! Looks like Spain (Pyrenees)

Btw, these are the same roads that Chris Harris drove the GT3 on. I think it was some kind of pre-press release, organized by Porsche for some invited car-journalists. Roads are clearly closed.

People do take risks! Did you see the guy that just walked across the Grand Canyon on a 2" wire? Then there was me who had 13 major malfunctions in 1300 hours of test flying Cobra's in Vietnam.... BTW I didn't continue to do that after Vietnam.

Chuck,
you got that one right. Points for that post.
The initial image (before you start the clip) looks almost exactly like one of the corners on my personal favourite run (Franshoek pass, going up from the south).
Except, the pass is even prettier with many tight corners, very short straights (not as long as in this clip). Also wider road (which helps). Nice scenery as well with a few good drops (if you loose it on one of those corners you will be airborne for long enough to think about your sins in great detail before you hit the hard stuff).

I do like the GT3 engine sound. I really do.

Yes. Here is a Google Earth view of the good bits of the pass. Note the coordinates at the bottom of the image. Use these if you want to explore this in more detail in Google Earth.

This glorious bit of black tarmak has been made by God for Porsches. At least that is what I am sure of. Screaming up that pass in a 911 is a religious experience. Doing it in a 991 C2S SPASM is nirvana.

Big difference, these guys know how to drive. These guys are adults, are experienced drivers on a closed road, and knew the risks. What's the problem? People take risks, have fun, it's life. Besides, this was probably way safer than riding a bicycle on a road shared with soccer moms driving suburbans and teens texting.

Also, that video was awesome!
