A strong obligation to defend his client . . . don't see that everyday. Kudos to him.

 

If I were making enough money as a trial lawyer to afford a California, you can bet your *** I will be busting mine to make the trial. He's right, a car is just a car. Your professional reputation (and the $$$ it brings in) is priceless.

 

Forget about it.

 

The guy probably already has a reputation for blowing off trials or being late. In the past 30 plus years I've been appearing in court I can't imagine that a simple call to the judge's chambers explaining that my car drowned on the way to the court house would not result in a continuance or reasonable delay and perhaps an offer to have a sheriff give me a ride.

I posted this today because my first thought was that the Ferrari owner/lawyer was probably an a&$hole and karma is a b$tch.

 

He's from Toronto and was interviewed by the local radio station today! The storm and flood just missed us by a short distance!

 

His insurance company is suing the City of Toronto for negligence !!
