This is completely typical in Japan. People revere their cars. There are magazines dedicated to cars and their garages/homes. One of the titles: "Garage Life". These are not garages with tools and equipment, hoists and the like as back here in N. America, but rather display cases to show their 'pride and joy'. I lived in Tokyo 6 years and bought my 993C2S there so I have an idea. It's one of the reasons I bought my car while there: because I knew how the Japanese treated them...awesome!

And my wife thinks I obsess over our Porsche's. Got to show her this and perhaps see if she'll let me build a ramp so I can bring them into the living room. Having said that she picked out both of our current Porsche's so maybe some of it's rubbed off on her also.
