Sanity check.... am I stupid?

I want to order a C4S ONLY because of the wider rear fenders and wider wheels/tires. I could care less about the added grip of the AWD and really hate that I'd have extra weight for the AWD system.

To me, the wider fenders are noticeable and waaaay sexier. Not too mention the added tire width makes the car look that much better.

Can the C2S wear the same size wheels/tires as the C4S?

You can put spacers on the C2S and get the 10mm wider look or you could have 305's put on the back. Paying $6k is a lot for a rear light and 1+ inches is really not noticeable to anyone but you. If it makes you happy and you don't mind the expense, do it.

You could also get the 50 anniversary model. Wide body but no extra weight from the awd system.

Check out the SportTechno wheels. They are 1/2" wider (9" and 11.5"), and while they come with the same tires, you can then swap out the rears for 305's.

I had 1/2" wider wheels and 305's on my '10 C2S. Looked awesome. (At least to me anyway )

Hope this helps.

I am confused a little. The wider wheels does not fix the wider fenders.

I admit I to like the wider look.

It's only 100 lbs or so heavier and the weight is in the front transaxle. Some people find the C4 is the better handling car. The C4S is the base homologation for the Porsche 911 race car body/chassis. Either drive configuration works.

Oh dont forget AWD--- there is more to the 6k than just the width.. I can notice it all day when the cars are side by side.

I agree, get what makes you happy as money is relative.

Thanks guys. I'd rather not spend the extra money and if 305's will fit in the rear (with wider wheels / proper offset) then that makes it a little better for me as it would fill out the fenders and give it that fuller/wider look. At least from behind.

I'm going to play around with the configurator and see what I can come up with.

The Sport Techno wheels come with 305's on a C2S. At least they do in Canada and I would assume the US also.

That's exactly why I bought mine, and I'm running 325's in the rear on my 4s

Yes. The Sport Techno wheels that you can order with the C2S are the same width as the wheels on the C4S and take the same size tires.

Not having them I notice how good they the look whenever I see a C2s with them and feel the pull on my wallet. I am developing a guilt adjustment rationale of needing a set of winter wheels and tires (e.g. the Carrera S wheels) and getting Sport Technos with Michelin Super Sports.
