I did a closer observation of Sport/Sport Plus modes over the weekend, and I did notice that if I wait until the oil temp is >150, it engages right away. There may be a slight delay if I turn off/on engine while it's warm, but the delay is less than 10 sec. Only thing I don't understand is I thought Sport mode engaged immediately even during cold engine start when I first got the car, but I may not have been paying close attention. I was also driving mostly under manual mode which makes it more difficult to tell.

So my conclusion is that the delay seems to be a normal behavior with oil temp controlling when it can be engaged, at least for my car.

Thanks all for your feedback!

I got my 2013 C4S shortly after yours from FJ Porsche. I just crossed 5K miles and no issues ...engagement is immediate.

Too many electronics gremlins in these cars nowadays and the diags hardly catch anything ...it's quite frustrating as workshop wouldn't do anything under warranty unless useless diags software catches it.

Good luck!

Hey Fester, long time no talk! Looks like you're still enjoying your beautiful C4S, putting 5k mi! But I think I beat you still; just passed 7k mi! I agree there are too many electronics. Unless problem becomes obvious & all the time, dealers seem to have difficulty trouble-shooting. Overall I still like my C4S though; can't think of a better daily driver than this!
