Just came in with red interior. Quite nice combo! We will be applying Spectra PhotoSync Nano Tint at 45% to the sides and back along with 75% onto the front windshield for maximum heat rejection.

What is so different about Spectra PhotoSync?:

Infrared Rejection - up to 98.5% (typically regular tint would only reject 20% - 30% while ceramics are in the 80%s)
Total Solar Energy Rejection - seen as one of the more important measures of a product's overall performance, Spectra PhotoSync achieves up to 78%
UVA and UVB Rejection - 99.5%
Product's performance improves when exposed to direct sunlight for 10 minutes
Product will darken 5%-11% depending on shade when exposed to IR and UV

I'm wondering if anyone has noticed a difference in FM reception after using this product. I had it done on all my windows and it seams like the FM reception is significantly worse after the product was installed. It's hard to know for sure but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed anything.

 

Not on mine. Love how cool the inside is nowadays. Well worth the $$.

 

I got this product on my Cayman S last year and can't say that I was all that impressed. And i really wanted to be wowwed. All the data shows it should work but frankly when it was sunny we sure felt the full heat. My seat of the pants (literally) internal thermometer just didn't think it was worth it. Im not bashing, really. Just disappointed. Was I expecting too much?

I noticed no degradation in FM signal.

 

That's odd. All of our clients have been very happy with it so far. We have customers coming from various other products and many have been very happy compared to the other tints they've had in the past. Where did you have it done?

We recently conducted a test to see how hot the Tesla Model S gets in the rear. There is a general consensus among Tesla owners regarding too much heat build up. For the rear hatch of the Tesla Model S, there is an option for rear facing seats for children. Owners of the Model S have been complaining and executives at Tesla even know of this issue. With that said, we decided to conduct a test to measure the ambient air temperature of the rear hatch. Tesla's rear hatch glass is a laminated glass that has a metallic coating to it to reject some heat; however, even this is not enough from our findings.

Though this is not a 991, we believe it is necessary to show the efficacy of every product we carry at Premier. Below is our test:

Test Subjects - 2 Tesla Model S
Tesla 1 - factory laminated OEM Glass with metallic coating
Tesla 2 - Spectra PhotoSync 45 installed to the side glasses + rear hatch

30 Minute Test in the Rear Hatch with both vehicles side by side
Duration: 30 Minutes
Time of Test: 3:35 pm
Exterior Temperature: 88 degrees
Purpose: Compare air temperatures inside hatch between vehicle with no window film and the other with Spectra PhotoSync installed

Here are the two test mules:


Test Vehicle 1 - No Film
Start off at 84 degrees


In just 3 minutes the temperature rose to 92 degrees


Close to 7 minutes, the air temperature rises to 105 degrees


At the 15 minute marker, temperature is at an unbearable 123 degrees


26 Minutes - Temperature now reads 136 degrees


At the end of the 30 minute test, it is a scalding 140 degrees, which is the reason why leaving children in a vehicle can be a fatal mistake.

Test starts at 85 degrees



At the 15 minute marker, it is 96 degrees compared to Vehicle 1 at 123 degrees.



At the completion of the test at 31 Minutes, the Tesla Model S with Sepctra PhotoSync is at 104 degrees compared to 140 degrees in the other Tesla. This is a 36 degree differential!

 

Thanks for sharing Premier. It validates my investment on this tint for all my cars so far and my old lady loves it.

 

We also conducted a test for 120 minutes and the results were just as impressive:

91 degrees outdoor
2pm time of test
Vehicle 1
1hr mark reached 154 degrees
2hr mark reached 162 degrees

Vehicle 2 Spectra Photosync 35 (we did not have the same vehicle available for test)
1 hr mark reached 116 degrees
2 hr mark reached 123 degrees

What we've noticed that the rate / speed of temperature escalation slows down after a certain amount of time and one of the major contributing factors to this is because the sun is never staying in one location. As the sun moves, so does the angle of direct heat, which plays a large role in both IR and visible light entering into the vehicle. Regardless, the #s here are quite impressive in terms of heat rejection with PhotoSync.

 

Great test. The results are quite astonishing.

 

How reliable is nano tint film? Is it prone to scratching or resistant? What's warranty on it and any key disclaimers?

 

Yes Spectra PhotoSync comes with a scratch resistant coating. Reliability? We would not carry it if it's not a reliable or durable product. Product comes with a Lifetime Warranty from bubbling, purpling, fading, and cracking.

 

Back to the 991 getting Spectra PhotoSync 75 on the windshield and 45 on the sides + rear.
