K40 Rl 360 with laser diffuser install in new 991?

My Porsche dealer is recommending this installed radar detector and laser diffuser for my new c4s. The want $3650 for the installation (Porsche of Plano).

Any comments on this detector/diffuser combo? Any comments on the price? Any recommendations for alternative systems? How about for alternative installers in the Dallas area?

Thanks in advance,

I'm pretty sure the laser diffuser is illegal in Texas. Also, that price is ridiculous.

I didn't know people still used radar detectors? Remember, the dealers job is to make as much money as possible from you.

That is pricey. I have it. It is OK. I gat a lot of false positives on hi ways where I am running with a group a long way. I wonder if it is picking up the radar fron all of those assisted cruise control systems.

That price is insane. There are a lot of negative comments about the K40 on the web and it seems like mostly dealers install that system. My dealer tried to sell me one and after countless hours reading about them I passed. If I did get one I would lean towards the Passport 8500 ci

Get the Waze app for your phone! It's free and works great, especially on the highways! I enjoy reporting the cops as much as I like being saved

High Price, Great System

I paid about $ 2500 from a high end installer. It has saved me at least a few times and it's a very clean install. I love it mostly because it's fun. Nothing like knowing were the cops are and them spotting them. I think all of the high end systems are good, so for me it came down to the clean install and the confidence I had with local high end installer. I used performance in New Hampshire, he has a great web site, just google it.

agree with above posts. i purchased the escort 8500 + laser shifters myself and had my local Porsche dealer install it. they did a phenomenal job and i have had zero problems / complaints with the install and with the exceptional job the radar/laser detector has done. they charged me labor only and it was just shy of $1,000. so that price sounds ridiculous

Get anything beside that, and get the Waze app. It rocks.
