Recent European Delivery
Recently returned home from from taking European Delivery of my new Porsche. What an experience!
Starting from Zuffenhausen, we visited Dachau, Munich, Salzburg, Hohenschwangau, Lake Constance, Lucerne, Baden Baden, Nurburg, Marksburg castle, Wurzburg, Rothenburg and back to Stuttgart.
Ronny Till was our contact/presenter at the factory, and he was amazing. I have seen the online videos of the Porsche factory, but they do not do it justice. We drove a mix of autobahn and back roads, including Klausen Passe and the Black Forest. The driving was a BLAST!
I come to the 991 from a 997.1. I don't regret my decision for a second. I had high expectations for this car, and it exceeded them! I absolutely love it. So fast, agile and even comfortable. I tend to get very uncomfortable in car seats over long distances. I was able to drive longer in this car then our Audi or BMW. (Granted, they are both 2007!)

Congrats on the beautiful new 991. Most importantly, you got it manual. I was stationed in Germany for 3 years with the Army and also picked up several cars at the factory. All those places you visited make for wonderful driving. Many miles of safe driving!
I truly do not know! I didn't do anything special to have, or not have the washers. I can't say I really ever noticed before, but I love the way it looks as is!
My car finally arrived at the dealer last Thursday morning. My salesman told me that it threw an error code, and they were looking into it. They also wanted to get it looking all nice and new, and the plan was for me to pick it up Friday afternoon.
I didn't hear anything all day Friday, and stopped at the dealer later in the afternoon. Apparently, the PCM is stuck in 'Transport Mode'. A VERY experienced technician had been on the phone with Porsche Germany all day Thursday and Friday, and still stuck.
Finally yesterday, Porsche told my dealer they were simply going to have to replace the PCM unit. Problem is, there is only 1 unit in existence, located in Germany. I haven't heard yet, but if that unit is not spoken for, it should be received and installed by the end of the week. If not, will have to wait for a new one to be built!!!!
Just hoping to get it before the big snows hit!!
