first ultrasound pic

I've been patiently reading all the posts of others tracking their ordered 991s, and seeing the pictures of the dealer pickup events. Now, I finally have some signs of life and couldn't help but post this pre-birth picture.

Due to be completed on 10/11, and at the dealer 12/6.

I'm curious if others got this same report and found that Porsche hits their dates fairly reliably, or if there are often deviations from the plan.

I've ordered cars before, so I know the shipping and port entry dates have a lot of variability, but I was wondering if the factory part of the schedule is reliable.

Cheers!

My experience is that the factory portion is right on but the shipping beat the estimates. I'm in the last week of waiting (eeeeekkkkkk!) and the dealer delivery looks like it will be about 10 days ahead of what was promised.

Mine finished 8 days early and made earlier ship. Did sit in port a week which was a nail bite. Have it a week and I am in love. My Daily Driver, a Chevy Volt may enjoy some quality garage time.

Mine arrived about 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule (cleared production early and shipping/ delivery took shorter than expected). Good luck with the wait, and hope your's arrives early!

According to my dealer, my finish date is 10/24 and he said 2-3 weeks later it will be in my hands. That puts me into mid Nov, i'm going crazy waiting and I already traded my AMG in!
My dealer did say that they have been running ahead of schedule, I sure hope so. If my car comes in after the first snow/salt it will be shipped to my house in closed trailer from the dealer and into my heated garage. My cars live a spoiled existence I just hope it arrives early enough to drive

Wow BlackSpeed! That would be a fast delivery - compared to the 10/11 completion and 12/6 delivery shown on the schedule given to me (above).

I see you are in Mass, and I'm in TX, so I'm spotting you some boat miles, but how about a little "race" to see who sits in the car first? :-)

The only date that I cared about was arrival to dealer. It was pretty accurate in my case. My car took a long time to get on the boat according to the schedule.

I understand your pain, hang in there! Just do what we all do, go on the forums!

I have a hard time saying no to a race, you're on!

All seriousness, I just hope my dealer isn't feeding me a bunch of crap
There's another nicely spec'd car available at another local dealer and I could just get that right away, but it's not black and I really have a thing for black cars So far, my dealer seems honest, but I'm always suspicious of people, especially people taking my money

OK, BlackSpeed, today I got my VIN, Engine and Gearbox numbers. Today's status is still in "Custom Tailoring", but tomorrow I'm expected it to be completed.

Where are you at in the process?

I have nothing to report yet. My completion date is 10/24 and I was hoping it would get completed early, but by the looks of yours, they're right on schedule.

I'm hoping to catch up to you on the boat ride

I just hope there's not too much Octoberfest going on

I better look into a cargo plane to get my baby here quicker
Mine will be docking in RI and that should buy me a week right there.
I should get some info next week on completion.

Ugh. Sitting at Emden port since at least 10/18. Waiting to board a ship.

I'm going crazy looking at the satellite pictures of Emden port using marinetraffic.com, trying to guess which dock its sitting on.

I've seen several "Vehicle Carrier" class ships come and go, but apparently 'my ship hasn't come in'...

Won't seem fair if yours shows up at the dock and boards the same ship as mine.
