Rear Quarter Panel Question
Rear Quarter Panel Question
I was taking a good look at my rear quarter panels - I have a black coupe - at the point where the panel comes to the end of the engine cover - it looks like there's almost an indentation (as in compression dent). I know there are a lot of complex curves coming together there. I could take it to Dent Wizards and have them try to pop it out but just wondering if anyone else saw this and it's just a result of the curves and the way the light is hitting the panels. It's on both sides, more on one than the other.
thanks!
thanks!

Guys thanks so much for taking a look. My apologies for the quality of pictures but you should be able to see the dimple (depression) left of where the wing and engine lid cover come together - if I was technologically advanced I could put an arrow there. However, believe it or not I went to the dealer today and looked at a number of black coupes - they all have the same depression and to a lesser degree one on the right side of the car, which mine does as well.
I think it's as simple as the compound curve of the panel that goes down then slightly up to the round portion that goes over the rear tail light.
What's exacerbating it is that the car is black and thanks to multiple applications of various Menzerna products there is incredible depth and clarity in the paint, so when light hits and you're looking at the panel at eye level (imagine you're at 0 degrees on a plane) it essentially looks like there's a dent in the panel, which there isn't. You can see it looking at 45 degrees from the driver's side door towards the back of the car too - and again it's on the other side of the car as well, just to a lesser degree- just as the other cars at the dealership were. The Cab's don't have this issue as this quarter panel doesn't exist as it is covered by part of the convertible partition cover.

Guys thanks again - since I'm seeing this on every black coupe I think it's just how the stamping is and complex curves come together which is amplified in black which is polished to another level.
