Badge question
Badge question
I have scratched my rear bumper and will be getting it resprayed. My car is a '13 so I am thinking of putting the 911_50 badge on it instead of replacing the 911 Carrera S. I have always thought it looked busy with all of that script on the boot. I really like the looks of it. Thoughts? It's pricey, but what's not pricey with a Porsche?
In the end its personal preference (and I know its more abt the script) but for me I feel its like putting a 'turbo or GT' badge on a base level car.....better to save up a bit more and get car you want rather than badge the look. just my 2 cents.
+1
People that know Porsche will know that it is not a 50. People that don't know will not know what it means anyways.
I am personally not into modding badges either.

I agree the changing the badges would be weird on a non special edition car but you could always go the decal route to celebrate 50 years of 911

Thanks to all for the input. The kind of the response I was expecting. Really not my intention to make my car look like a special edition. I just like the badge and the fact that my car is a 50th year production model. Will probably drop Carrera S and just go with 911. I am surprised I didn't get any sympathy for my scratched bumper.

Since I just got my bumper scratched yesterday, I emphasize with you

I'm a little anxious about having to have the whole rear bumper painted and the lettering put back properly just for a few lousy scratches. We **** types are a pain to please aren't we?
I think going with the 911 is the way to go. Minimal and understated...perfect.
Its a shame about the scratch and respray. Who is doing the work? I'm not too far from Nashville and would be interested in the quality of the respray company. Always good to keep good ones on file.

if you love the 50th badge you might consider this sticker i have on my car currently which i got from the dealer in Geneva (i saw it in the porsche museum shop as well):
am not sure if am going to keep it, but so far i like it, less confusing as my badge still says 911 only, saw many cars at the dealers in Geneva and Stuttgart with the same sticker, not a factory option but a nice touch and an official sticker from porsche.
