Aftermarket exhaust (remote control)
Aftermarket exhaust (remote control)
Hi Guys,
I'm trying to decide whether or not to install the PSE vs getting an aftermarket exhaust system. After reading the board, I'm still a bit confused and hope that you guys could help point me in the right direction.
Briefly, I want a system that can be controlled inside the car (on/off), remote switch integrated into the control panel "like the PSE switch" if possible.
My is a C2S 2013 - my options based on what I know are:
1. Innotech - sound extremely loud
2. Akrapovic - good system but the price is very high
3. ????
Thanks for all the input.

I think AWE makes a valved exhaust.

I have the FVD x-pipe (valve controlled) and I love it. - very well made. Another great alternative for the OP would be the Sharkwerks exhaust that replaces the side muffler instead of the center one, for under $1K that has to be the best bang for your buck. It is also very well made and sounds fantastic. As a side bonus, it deletes those big cans of heat from the rear tires.
I would do sharkwerks or have a muffler shop bend you up two pipes to mount the tips. I did an x pipe at first and there wasn't really a noticeable difference. Currently just running straight pipes but might reinstall the center muffler to quite it down a hair.
Agreed, that one sounds sick. I love the Kreissieg one as well, very similar.

Why on earth would you want your 911 to sound like an f1 car? I'd only want it to sound like a 911. Not like a muscle car, not like an f1, not like ... If I'd want a different sound, it had to be towards the 911 race car spectrum.
That Innotech system in order for it to sound like an F1 in their marketing clip I believe it's a complete system that replaces the headers, cats, etc. I was told it costs around $11,000 Canadian installed
Yes, it is a complete system. I could be wrong, but I believe it's around $6-$7k in the US.

to team plutonium - I am planning identical setup as yours. i am thinking FVD headers with sport cats, FVD center muffler bypass with valves and sharkwerks or cargraphic side muffler pipes. At present it has PSE. I want the loudest possible setup but no catless headers as i do not want to touch the ECU. IT will be great if i can see a video clip of your set up. How loud is it? I want it louder than IPE F1 System, But dont want to buy IPE as i am not too sure about their quality. i am pretty sorted with what i want. Thowever it will be nice to see a video clip of ours before placing an order.
