While I admit that I am right, most of the time. I do not imply that I am right or wrong for this topic. Just that it is.

No idea why it came about but race cars shift up by pulling back on the big stick and shift down by pushing on it.

Beta was better than VHS but yet it still lost.

Porsche hear me now! Allow me to shift up by pulling on my stick.

That didn't come out right.

It pisses me off that I am going to have to buy a $180,000 car just to have the correct shift pattern. But I will suffer thought it. Take one for the team. bla bla bla

I have noticed that all 911s incl Turbo S with PDK have this unorthodox shifting direction except the 991 GT3. Ideally it should up shift if you pushes it up & down shift if you pushes it down. Like I say except the GT3 all the rest has it the other way round. It also baffles me as well as to why Porsche has opted to do it differently. Maybe they thought that most if not all Porsche's drivers will not use the shifter in Manual mode to change gear. Also they think that the "S" mode is so good that most drivers will opt for that mode to drive & yes indeed the "S" mode is that good.

S mode is not all that good. I much prefer to run my Pdk in manual mode !

That is base MSRP. So for Porsche that means it may not even come with wheels or seats. Without trying I was at $150,000 on the configuration.

How did you get it to 150 without even trying? I put almost every option and mine comes to 155k.

Don't select carbon ceramics. Unless you are tracking the car you don't need them and instead you are just going to worry if they chip and you will have to pay 4k per rotor to replace.

There saved you 10k. Now you are at 140k for your build.

OK OK. Maybe not that easy. I did change the seats and did put carbon brakes on. I figured the GT3 is a track car and it would significantly less desirable without carbon brakes. Not to mention I track every car.

I am a ways away from making this decision. I have only had my 991S for a little over a year. And I love it. Plus I am still spending way too much money racing.
