Yellow fault warning: Steering Assistance
Battery disconnected fault on steering
I had this problem on my 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S 991
i disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes. When I tried to drive it, it came up with the fault in yellow. ‘Loss of steering support. Increased effort.’
I tried switching the ignition on and off a few times, without starting it. I left the ignition on for 30 seconds. I tried turning the steering both ways. None of these corrected the fault.
i took it for a drive. This was a little scary as the steering was very heavy. Suddenly, after about 1.5 miles the assisted steering kicked in and the fault disappeared. A relief.

So frustrated - spent so much time trying to get my HomeLink programmed, that the battery discharged enough to not start the car. I have had similar issues with certain cars in the past and my Chamberlain openers. Most cars take in under 60 seconds, a few have literally taken hours.
Anyway - next thing I know is my beautiful new 991 Carrera S with 200 miles on the odo Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin now has a yellow warning: FAULT: Steering Assistance.
Battery is now charged, but the fault remains. Any ideas on how to clear this w/o a trip to the dealer? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I thought about disconnecting the battery, but I don't want to make things worse so I am awaiting some advice. TIA!
