Bose Intermittent Rattling (like blown)

I'm having intermittent distorted, blown speaker, Rattling issues with my Bose speakers.

The other morning my drivers side door speaker sounded like it was blown, it made that deep tone popping burble noise and everything was distorted. It was easily duplicated with different songs and different radio stations during my 30 min drive to work. But when I got out of work the speakers were fine. No issues at all, sounded like it should be. And for the whole week I was not able to duplicate it with the exact same CD / MP3s

Today I washed and waxed the car and then went out for a drive and I heard the issue again on the drivers door speaker. It was not as pronounced as it was on Monday. After 15 mins or so of driving it was happening to BOTH the drivers and passenger door speakers, they both sounded like it was blown. After I shut down the car and after an hour or so they're back to normal. So I am now completely baffled, has anyone heard of this?

P.S. I've checked the door pockets and they are completely empty.

I have the bose system and though the doors trim does vibrate a little sometimes, i have never had that problem. Would definitely get the dealership to check that out. Not an expert on these things unfortunately but could it be the amplifier if not the speakers? Good luck with getting that fixed.

I think i found the source of my problem. replicated three times now. It is after i wash the car. The speakers sounds like it is blown. Always happens to the drivers side but I've heard it twice for a very short time on the passengers side too.

Now I'm wondering if this has anything to do with what is posted in this tread about water getting in.

I had the same rattling sound that sounded like a blown speaker- from the same place. It turned out to be from the plastic air bag cover vibrating against the door jamb. It was due to the door card not fitting tightly. Try putting a folded business card into the edge of the door card near the speaker. If that cures it, then the dealer can fix the clip that holds the door card. In my case (with new car just after they came out) they replaced the door card altogether when fixing the clip did not end the rattle.

Thanks for the tip. I wil try that and see if it stops the rattling. Hoping it's a simple clip fix.
